If you want to have a healthy, energetic lifestyle, stop counting calories. Focus instead on your body composition. What has the greatest impact on your body composition are foods high in simple carbs. The glycemic index measures the impact of foods on your blood sugar levels, if you eat foods low on the glycemic index, you lower your blood sugar levels, you burn fat rather than muscle, and you have more energy.
