Frito Lay Bean Dip

Was tired of paying the high price for this and found this recipe online. This tastes like the real thing.

1 (15 ounce) can refried beans
5 slices bottled jalapenos (nacho slices)
1 tablespoon brine, from bottled jalapeno slices
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Combine refried beans with the other ingredients in a food processor.
Puree ingredients on high speed until smooth.
Cover and chill for at least an hour before serving.

Here is a cheap very simple recipe that my mother made for us as kids and now what we make for our kids:

(2-3 servings....just add more of everything according to how many people eating)

1 can refried beans
water
taco sauce
grated cheese (choose your favorite kind...cheddar, monterey jack, etc) (you can buy the packs already grated to make it easier...some packs have different blends such as a taco mix)

Heat refried beans and water on stove. You only need a little water (maybe 2 tablespoons). After you heat the beans up about halfway add taco sauce and cheese. Amount of sauce and cheese depends on your taste. I personally use about 1/3 can of Taco Bell sauce you buy from Wal-Mart and about half a cup of cheese. When the cheese is melted and the whole mix is hot the bean dip is done. We use just regular tortilla chips to dip. This also makes a great bean burrito!

This is my hubby's creation. He woke up from a nap one day and just threw all this together, and it's excellent!!

1 can Rosarita spicy refried beans
1 bottle of Taco Bell hot sauce
About 1/3-1/2 cup cubed up Velveeta

Stir it all together and nuke for a few minutes. Stir, nuke again, repeat until it's hot and the cheese has melted. Then add more hot sauce on top.

We ate the whole bowl of dip with chips for dinner that night, it's that good!

This is a spicy layered dip that is delish!

Sautee up some type of ground meat. I use my own mix for seasoning it, but you can use a basic taco mix. I generally use ground turkey (you have to save calories somewhere), a palmful of cumin, chili powder, a dash of oregano, salt, and pepper. And if you're like me, and like more heat in yours add 1 -2 diced chipotles in adobo. Add 1 tbsp of tomato paste and about 1/4 cup of water and let simmer until the mixture gets thick.

On the bottom of a baking dish add 1/4 jar of salsa (or make your own, but I find the seasonings in premade salsa make this taste a little better), then add the meat. On top of this add 1 can of refried beans (I like to season mine with 1/4 bag of taco seasoning - yes the bagged it's a lot easier). Its a little difficult to spread so warm it up with the seasoning first. Top with the 3/4 jar of salsa and one bag of mexican cheese. This dip should be served room temp, so let it chill. Then top with sour cream, and guacomole if you like. I like to do both. Then finally top with chopped scallioins. It's deslish!
