If they had the technology to star travel and were interested in contact with other life forms, perhaps. It's a big universe out there, and it's likely that there are different variants of intellectual evolution.

Well, that isn't very encouraging! If a race of creatures have developed space travel--and due to the distance in light years between galaxies, we must also assume, time travel--or at very least "time abatement" (either way they are "light years" ahead of us in technology), that only leaves them with two possible "needs"--Natural resources--which we here on this planet are quickly running out of ourselves, or human resources( i.e. slave labor or experimentation).
Either way I don't think E.T. is coming in peace! It might be a good time to perview SunTzu's Art of War--just in case.

If aliens are truly of a higher intelligence, then they would have no need for us whatsoever, other than entertainment.
