It makes no sense to believe in a fairy tale book of hate, dominance & violence.

How can you get something from nothing?
What are you talking about?
They are gonna spew some "fairy" logic reversals that your weird and senile philosophy teacher taught you back in college
And I should listen to YOU rather than a philosophy teacher because...??
If I were to play the "atheistic shuffle" and entertain the notion that nothing is actually something(sigh), then I would have to ask where did that nothing come from? Another nothing?
Again, I have no idea what you're reffering to here...? But if you're referring to the creation of the cosmos, aren't you just doing the same thing when you say "God did it"? Where did God come from? Nothing?
Is that many athiest would rather believe we came from space aliens than from an almighty God who loved us.
I've never heard the "space alien" theory before, but just because your God theory SOUNDS nicer doesn't make it any more TRUE.

The thing is, a lot of us don't believe something came from nothing. That is a misconception I have seen a number of times. I believe that "nothing" is more of a concept. It could defined as a lack of something, but there always is something else that seems to be there. But such thoughts are philosophical rather than factual.
As far as these insults you are tossing out because I lack the same beliefs as you do. I understand at some point you may have been insulted in one way or another by an Atheist, but honestly I think you are acting out in a vengeful manner rather than a logical one.
I think that you realize we are not as illogical as you have stated in the above rant, and I also think you realize that we are all not defined as you have stated.
Don't let people get to you in such a way, life is to short.

There is absolutely no proof of God. Any God.
And science has proven that nothing happens by chance, and that nothing comes from nothing.
Stars came from condensing clouds of hydrogen Gas, not nothing.
Heavy elements came from the core of stars and stars that supernova. That ain't nothing either.
The first life, much more simple than even the most primitive bacteria, came from abiotic organic materials that are known already to exist in meteors and asteroids, and are proven to have been produced by natural processes on the early earth. That isn't nothing.
Humans and other life evolved from common ancestors, which can be traced back to the primordial sludge, or whatever you fundies want to call it. That ain't nothing.
The universe came from the Big Bang, which came from a singularity.
That also, is something, not nothing.
Of course, you will ask what the singularity came from.
We don't know, but Argument from Incredulity/Appeal to Ignorance isn't proof of anything.
"I don't understand it and you can't explain it, so God did it" is a logical fallacy that only works on fundies because they shut their brains down and refuse to see anything that doesn't support their delusions of God.
News Flash, Genius!
The burden of proof is on you and God to prove that he exists, not us.

The question "Why is there something rather than nothing?" is certainly the biggest question of all time. But the answer "God did it." really is unsatisfactory, because "God" is then either self-creating or past-eternal. Why should this first thing, "God", be the most intelligent, complex thing there is? Why can't the first thing be something utterly simple, without intelligence or intentionality, but giving rise to somewhat more complex things?
Anyway, our problem with "why is there something?" may really be a problem with our notions of time and of causality. Perhaps there never was a "time" when there was "nothing".

Sounds like your mind is closed on this subject, so why ask? What you are saying would imply that if a person did a real lot of good things they could earn-merit their way into Heaven. If that were the case, then Jesus died for nothing. No matter how much or how little, everyone sins and something had to be done to take the sins away. Not cover them up, but take them away. And that's what Jesus did. Jesus died to save us from our sins and offers us eternal life in Heaven. To do a lot of really good things is great. Such a person should be congratulated, thanked, honored, etc. But, EVERYBODY sins. A persons good deeds don't nullify and cover up their sins. The Apostle Paul put it this way "It is by grace we are saved through faith and not of works...." We are saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus and NOT because we do a lot of good things. When a person has faith in Christ, their good deeds should automatically follow. Like they say "actions speak louder than words." A person may have faith and their actions should show it. But salvation comes by one way and through one person/God-and that's Jesus Christ. I assume you know who Billy Graham is. If not, look him up on your computer. You'll find a lot of info. about him. Billy is a Christian and does all sorts of good things. I'm 100% SURE that Billy Graham would tell you that his good works aren't enough to save him. He'd tell you that salvation is through Jesus and Jesus alone. Sin is what sends a person to hell. Just committing a few sins is still sinning. Can anybody not ever even once not sin? No. That sin, all sins, need to be forgiven and good works don't forgive sin. If a mass murderer that kills like 50 people might think a person that only murders one or two people is a pretty good person. Are they? They killed fewer people than he did, so I guess they are a nice person and should go to Heaven. You know that isn't true and so do I. His committing fewer sins won't save him. Even if he did a ton of very good things but still murdered two people, do you feel he should go to Heaven with the best of them? I don't think so and neither would the families of those he murdered. Maybe he could, but it would take faith in God, genuine sorrow, repentance, asking forgiveness, a change of heart, becoming a changed person and living like it. Trying to help the family that he took a loved one from would be a good idea too. Please read the Bible and see what Jesus had to say and what He did. Read what Paul wrote in the Bible books of Romans and Ephesians and see the way it works. PS-Lucid Interrogator is out in left field. WAY out in left field. Sorry old Lucid. Just calling it the way I see it.

How can you get something from a story? That truthfully reads like a fairy tale itself.
Sin, condemnation and intolerance is far more of a mind game than what you have posted here.
Oh the shame of knowledge.

hey Ive got an idea, why don't we say that god created it all so that we have an answer!
oh wait, but then where did god come from?
religion doesn't answer any questions, it merely complicates already unanswerable questions.
you say atheists are arrogant, what is more arrogant that claiming that an all powerful and all knowing being agrees with you and only those that believe/think/feel as you do?
i thought most fundies faulted the "atheists" for "denigrating human life" by suggesting that we all descended from apes and are NOT anything more than highly developed animals...so which is it, arrogance or denigration?

If you need something to produce nothing then how did God appear? Oh, silly me, he's always been there hasn't he? How convenient for you. Saves you having to think for yourself or even do the smallest piece of research.
I despair at the ignorance of some so-called Christians on here. Do you never read a book, other than that man-made book of myth, superstition, contradiction and innacuracy you call the Bible?
I'm guessing not.

I've never heard an atheist, evolutionist or any sane person claim something came from nothing. On the other hand, I've seen numerous theists recoil and stutter when they say, "How can you get something from nothing?" --- and I respond with, "Okay, so who created your god?" The common answer? Well, they redefine reality and the universe and claim their god exists outside of it. But that is, by definition, nonexistence, so you're in a real pickle.

We don't claim to know the ultimate origins of the universe, since we don't have any more evidence than you do. No, a crusty old book of superstitions and taboos isn't evidence. Attacking us doesn't make your delusions any more feasible. Xenogenesis is a crackpot theory, so watch where you sling those "many atheist" generalities. Thank you for an entertaining twenty seconds.
