My aunts neighbors cat had kittens and there giving them away for free, but the think is i have my own dog and i take care of the family-dog too, and my mom let me get a rat last month but i really want a kitten and trust me when i say i can take care of it.

you have a dog and a rat already.. you are scattered and now want a kitten.. you dont really know what you want...

its not your parents job to get you a kitten.. who will pay the bills.. buy the food etc...will they keep it when you move out and cannot find a place that allows cats?? or will it be euthanized becuase they didnt really want it in the first place??

if your parents want a cat/kitten - they will get you one.. if not dont pressure them..

also FREE kittens are NEVER really free - you still have to deworm, vaccinated, possibly treat for fleas/earmites... vet check for problems like weak heart... and so forth - its actually CHEAPER to adopt one from a shelter than it is to take a FREE one and do all this on your own..

Find out their main reason for not letting you get a kitten if they have already objected, and if reasonable, try to convince them otherwise. It all depends on the situation, for example what if one of your parents have an allergic reaction? They may know your responsible enough, but they also might think that they're being overwhelmed with new additions to the family every month! Even if they don't let you get the kitten, look from their point of view. Good luck!

If your parents already let you take good care of you other pets and can see that you are a trusted and responsible pet owner with them i don;t think it will be too hard to get them to agree, the first 4 months of having a kitten is the hardest and most time consuming as this is when you are teaching it right from wrong, using the litter tray, teaching it to use a scratch post and not the furniture etc, i think if you get a book that tells you everything you need to know and go armed with all this info then your parents (hopefully!) will agree! good luck!

hey sweetie, i actually was trying the same thing with my husband, he just kept saying the same thing ( i'm not going to spend some money on a ball of fur! NO ) cause a friend of mine that lives right next door had some he wanted to get rid of and just one day on my way to the mail box i went and pick out one and brought it home and told him don't he look so cute hold him for a sec and let me use the bathroom and i'll take him back, no kidding when i got back in the livingroom he asked me if i would go up to the store and get cat food!,,lol,, and to this day ( andy ) is still a daddy's cat he took to him more than he took to me, so try something kidding like this i'm not sure how old you are but try talking to your parents and just tell them that you will fend them and take care of him and everything you have to do and if you start slaking you will get rid of him but 9 times outta 10 they won't make you get rid of him because they'll start getting to likeing the cat, but do try to stay on top of it and feed him and change his litter if he or she is going to be an inside cat! , the best of luck let me know how it works out for ya,

I don't know your age but by the sound of it I can't give my normal answer to this question.A pet requires a great deal of love and care which to seem to have grasped Thats Great !!! You are also showing you have become responsible - Incredible- keep going LuLu !!! I think you already have a great deal on your plate so to speak............ I bet you grow up and become a vetenarian or something. If you take on another pet it just means you'll have less time to be a kid and hang out with your friends.

If a few reminders that you're doing a great job with the dog and rat don't get it done, nothing much will.

If you're not doing that great with your existing pets, you'll have to improve there before you should think about a third.

Nala will in all danger no longer purely like the recent kitten being around the residing house in any respect. whether i could save working on your father and mom and assisting them with the animals who are not yours take the canines for walks and feed and bathe them. prepare which you will take care of a kitten and could play with him in many situations and save him out of hardship. additionally empty the muddle field greater suitable than in many situations and save the muddle fairly sparkling, you will could empty the muddle field two times as a lot with 2 cats. good success purely stay persistant and don't whine refer to them like an grownup.
