Well, sometimes it is as simple as being thankful for hot water in my shower. I haven't always had that.
Or being thankful that I have a washer and a dryer. Didn't have that either for many years...
I think about my children, and grandchildren. I love my husband and I am thankful for him.
My job is a pain sometimes, but I have one.
I can stand in freedom and worship God.
But mostly, I remember the Word and pray that when everthing is fallling apart. The word will always be there for me.

No matter how bad you may have it, someone else has it worse. Think of all the things that you've come through in the past. When you were small all those things that seemed like insurmountable obstacles, like the first day of school perhaps. Yet, you've made it this far,and you've always had everything you needed in the palm of your hand.
Seek to understand if there's anything you can do to remedy things. Maybe not right now, so you need to practice letting go. Watch from a calm center, resist a struggle and offer up a prayer of need. Too often, difficult periods in our lives are the food for growth, even though we can't see it.

Think about others who have it worse. For instance, if I ever start to feel sorry for myself and wonder how things could be any worse, I ask myself what if things were the same but I lost a leg. That would be worse so rather than obsess on how bad things are I rejoice that I have two good legs and can still walk. Then I get to work fixing those things I have the power to fix and accepting those that I do not.
It is also very helpful to remind yourself of the things you have successfully accomplished, the things that are going well and that ten years from now this will be a distant memory.

Look at the bright side of things. There is always some positive, regardless of the situation. You will learn that (hopefuly) as you age. A fact: 87% of worries never come true. So why worry? It's a big waste of energy.

I try hard to focus on the things in life that make me happy no matter how poorly everything else is going. Like, my cat always loves me no matter what kind of day I'm having. My brother always loves me and makes me laugh. I have tons of friends who love me. And monkeys always make me happy. So, that's how I do it.

I do not judge any situation in my life as "Good" or "Bad", I simply look for the opportunity to learn and grow that is always present in each situation.

Well first, be glad that you are alive.
After you realize how much better that is than not alive, I think everything else should seem manageable.
