Well, I am 50. Atkins makes money primarily for your local grocers, farmers etc because the food that you eat on Atkins is whole real food. As a matter of fact, I get my low carb food primarily from the Whole Foods Market. I wish that I had a spot for a vegetable garden so that I could feast on even fresher low carb produce. I have learned to cook on Atkins and even if I did not lose 30 lbs, it would be Atkins all the way.The diet is just so natural that you can't go wrong with it if you use your noggin. Sure, you can get low carb products such as shakes, bars, cereals etc but they are not needed.

BTW, I competed in a 5K run last year. I was strictly doing Atkins just to see if it were true. I wanted to see if it were true that you need carbohydrates to get the energy to accomplish such a feat. Maybe I am from Venus, but I did fine on low carb. I have made attempts at 5K runs before and always came in last. I didn't even run the entire race...I walked. But, at the age of 49, this was the first time that I completed the race. I protein loaded the night before with a steak, shrimp and mustard greens which was delicious. The morning of the race, I had 2 strips of bacon and 2 eggs and a glass of V8 juice.I have been an Atkinser for nearly 5 years.

I know a lot of women that do weightwatchers, but... I will tell you that the best way to drop some weight is to watch what you eat and up the exercise. You should do 30 minutes of some sort of physical activity about 5 days a week. Not only will it help you with the weight it will decrease stress, anxiety, depression and etc.
You should also try to limit cokes in your diet. If you drink cokes try to drink a diet coke instead. The sugar is soft drinks are bad for you. Up your water intake as well.
Good luck with the weight lose. Remember you will not see change overnight. Keep working hard though!

I have tried every diet known to woman and i don't know your age but the younger the easier i have found. With Atkins I lost weight every time but once I started eating carbs again I gained even more so unless you can live without bread pasta and real chocolate its out :) The six week body makeover program works Very well although it is strict it def gives results.bland though and lots of prep. I took phentermine and lost nearly 80 lbs and kept it off for 2 years until getting pregnant and weight fell back on. Lots of things work for a temp fix but to lose and stay is VERY hard work. eat get exercise and blah blah you know the drill it truly is the only permanent way to keep it off. sometimes using something and then maintaining with exercise to keep fit is the best way for long term.Hope this helps you! :) good luck and God bless

All of those diets are designed to do one thing -- make money for the diet company. None of them work. The only way to lose weight and keep it off is a lifestyle change -- not a diet. You need to eat better foods, avoid sugar & fatty foods, and exercise daily ( a short walk does not count as exercise). Do that & you will lose the weight and feel better. Good Luck.

Probably one that you design yourself including all food groups - spend your money on good food not diet books.
Use a small plate for each meal- divide it in half mentally- one half is for veggies(preferably dark coloured) and/or fruit. The other half is divided again - one part for protein - 3 or 4 ounces; the other half for whole grains or occasionally starchy vegetables. If you put so much on your plate that it falls off - you've got too much!
Drink lots of water and skip fruit juice for a while - it's better to eat fruit because of the fibre. Add 2 or 3 servings ( one half to three quarters of a cup) of low-fat dairy a day.
This is a not a diet but a way of life and it works.

I prefer Atkins because it is healthy and natural, but the best diet for *you* is one that is healthy and that *you* can stick with permanently.
