I agree that sitting in a garage doesn't make a person a car. I agree that you probably aren't very well educated. I agree that even many of the most hardcore Christians on this site think you are... well- you know... "special." I agree that your posts are also a great source of entertainment for me much in the same way a monkey throwing feces at another monkey in a cage would be. BUT MOST OF ALL I agree that you probably should put the Bible down for a while and join us here in reality... it'll help you.
However I disagree that you know anything about the lives of those of us who know better than to follow ancient texts and fairy tales as a way of life. I'm sorry you're at such a disadvantage.

No, I don't agree. I did used to be christian. I went to a christian school where they brain-washed the little children and intimidated them into believing in some guy in the sky controlling all. I didn't just "sit in a church." I used to say the lord's prayer and mean it. I was so clueless and I really thought Jesus was the only way and the only light, silly me!
Then, I turned 10 and started having questions that none of the christian teachers could answer, so that was my wakeup call. That's when I converted to a religion that goes off of logic and reason instead of blind faith and fairy tales.

I personally have never claimed that I used to BE a Christian. I do state that I was raised Christian but that I never truly believed. I did not say I didn't try to believe because I did but one cannot force themself to believe in something that doesn't ring true in their heart. So no, I never used to be a Christian but I was raised as one. I was taught that I should believe in the Bible, but I simply didn't.

Oh yeah, I used to be a Christian. Think of the most zealous young idiot in your congregation. Praying, testifying, hearing voices, Holy Spirit coming out his backside. I was the best Christian you ever saw. I'm happy to say I was never a self-satisfied bigot like you though.

No actually I didn't
see the indoctrination just didn't take
as a young child I was able to go "this sounds like bullsh!t"
and it still does.
When you post questions like this it just makes you seem scared of the idea that people woke up to how utterly unbelievable religion is.
One day you might too.

I didn't deceive myself. My family told me what to believe before I was old enough to think for myself. And once I was old enough, sometime in my preteen years, I realized that it was hooey. Now, as an Atheist, I really don't care if I was considered a "real" Christian when I was a kid.

you dont have to know every story in the bible to be a Christian. you just have to believe in the Christian faith and god to be one. and yes as a matter of fact, i was a Christian but then i started to question everything and it made no sense. i saw light. so you cant tell us what we are or were.

So you're saying that a Christian isn't someone who believes in God and the teachings of Jesus Christ? Then what is a Christian?
I would say that I was a Christian when I was younger but only because my mother is. Once I grew up and started thinking for myself I realised it made about as much sense as any other mythology (read: none).

Sure, right. I admit I was never really indoctrinated well. Which is why I now find the idea of Christianity so preposterous.
So basically, you're saying a person can never be a Christian unless they suspend disbelief all their life. And refuse to question or disagree with the curch or the Bible.
Good thing I was never that bad...
