Mr. Jessup: I thought satan rules the earth, how could he not deliver on those promises?

I believe you already know the answer....but I will give you one anyway. At Genesis 3:1-4 this is the instance where Satan tempted Eve and she took and ate from the tree which she had been instructed to not touch.
Now, if you will read verse 4, it says: "At this the serpent [satan] said to the woman: " you POSITIVELY will not die"

Now , I ask you, where is Eve today? Is she dead or alive?
Jehovah created Adam and Eve with the prospect of living forever.....which included obedience to HIM only....when they rebelled, they lost that prospect.
Satan is a liar, and the father of the lie......John 8:44

wow, istvan, can u please show me the verse where satan is involved in Abraham's sacrifice?

And for all u people talking about the garden in general terms, nobody has really pointed out a lie yet.

"3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil." Meaning they will know good and evil like the god does. And that was not a lie.

wow u people are delusional. Someone else is showing a verse where satan is called a liar, but still no actual lie. No generalities!!! Show the lie by verse or copy and paste!!!

Genesis 3:4 - "At this the serpent said to the woman: “YOU positively will not die.""
Satan told this to Eve, and guess what? She died. Therefore Satan lied to her.

Satan has promoted many things and promoted lies about God, to confuse people.
John 8:44 - "YOU are from YOUR father the Devil, and YOU wish to do the desires of YOUR father. That one was a manslayer when he began, and he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own disposition, because he is a liar and the father of [the lie]."

I love how everyone's referring to the garden of eden fairytale. First off, the serpant in that story was never refered to as Satan...that interpetation only came about a thousand or so years ago.
Second, the serpant did NOT lie. He said they would be as god, knowing both good and evil....looks like they did. He also called god on HIS lie when he told them they would NOT die from eating the fruit as god told them they would.

He told Eve that she would not die as God had said.

But when she ate the fruit her spirit died as Adam's did when he ate.

That is why we need to be born again.
We have been born physically, but we need to be born (made alive) by God's Spirit.

When he try to temp Jesus by saying that he can turn over all of the earth's riches to him if Jesus would worship him. How can the devil give something away that is NOT his to give, and which God created and rightfully owns?

"Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it" (John 8:44)
