have you heard of the band KoRn? well they used to have an amazing guitarist, until one day he decided to become a christian and leave the band, from then on they have never been the same.

how would christians feel if jesus came back so that he could join a rock band, of how would catholics feel if the pope decided to quit to be in a band.

do you agree that religion gets in the way of things when there is no reason to?

No, It doesn't ruin anything. The guitarist quit as he found Christ and did not want to associate with non-Christians(other Korn members) any longer.

The lifestyle that Korn led was too tempting for the guitarist to constantly be around and not be tempted into sinning.

I would think that the guitarist would now join or form a Christian band and use his talents to bring people to Christ. If he did that would you listen to his music?

It might ruin rock music for you, but the guy who left has probably never felt happier in his life. Be glad for him! Another guitarist will come along who might be even better. Nobody's indispensible.

If Jesus joined a rock band, you and millions of rock-lovers would then be at serious risk of conversion to Christianity!

Religion more than 'gets in the way' when it splits families up, or causes wars, but the case you cite is only 2.5 on the Richter scale of rock music. KoRn can ratchet that up to 5 without even trying!

Sorry honey but you are WRONG!!! Illegals come here without a home, money, or personal items. Just with the clothing on their backs. But yet can manage to work hard, and start building their future. So how is that American's are out on the street asking for money? If you want you can work hard too. America was built from immigrants. You eat, and probably live under a house constructed by immigrants. The free-way you drive on every morning was built by immigrants. They are helping you construct and make your home. I don't understand why many say that they come to live off of well-fare and of your taxes when the IRS has many income taxes that many illegals don't claim because they are afraid. When they buy goods they pay taxes too!! How do you want them to do things right when people like you won't give them a chance. You want them to come here LEGALLY. Ok, how are they supposed to do that? First they would have to pay a lot of fines for applications (money they don't have) travel to another state to file the applications (oh more money they don't have) wait a long term (maybe over 3 years) and then they still run the risk to loose everything and get nothing just because they don't have money. You have to have money and lots of it to come here legaly. Money to pay, travel, and you still have to have money in the bank. Or other wise they won't let you come into the country. I wish you guys would understand but you would never be able to understand. Then you want them to stay in Mexico they would not survive, they want to feed their kids, give them a roof, and something to wear that is it! Mexico is a poor country if it wasn't then people would not migrate here. You want them to do things legaly but by the time they even would get a chance there family's would probably die from hunger. Make some more research before you criticize. You get cheap produce, and a nice home, that was built off of immigrants. I don't understand if these people that don't understand English, have no money and no experience, can get a job. Then why can't Americans. No one is stealing there jobs. They just don't want to do those jobs. If the American's really wanted to they would do those jobs, they know the language, know the skills, and have arms and legs well let them go pick up the tomatoes, lettuce, corn, cotton etc. I will pray for you and ask GOD to give you forgiveness for all of your sins. I will not judge you but ask for your soul. I hope you don't regret all that you do. Because you someday like I will be judged. "Help your brothers and sisters, because I someday will help you" we all came from dirt and shall become dirt and only that. When we die all this land and everything else will stay behind. This land is for all because God created it. He did not say only Americans it is free for all to work on!!! Obviously you did not read the whole thing. Sorry to let you know that the world like you said is not F*** because of me but because of people like you that don't believe in helping one another and don't have a heart. Go ahead insult me all you that you want it's not going to hurt my feelings. It is just going to make me feel sorry that this world has people like you. I do believe in helping people in need, because that is what my church has taught me. GOD BLESS AND FORGIVE YOU AND ALL OF YOUR SINS!!!! I am an AMERICAN, I do work and I do pay taxes. I donate and help the needy. I am a MEXICAN woman and am not ashamed to be so....I am educated, and I did pay for my own education. I am a professional and am not stealing anything from you like you say!!!

1) Korn was never that great.
2)He's still a guitarist, he's just not in Korn anymore.

Not that I'm defending a "certain religion", but music is my own personal religion. You either like the guy for his talent (which you can still enjoy) or you just liked him for his "image". Liking artists for their image only has ruined popular music (--->Brittney Spears--I rest my case).

Why is that messed up.
Maybe he found God and wanted to change his life around.
Religion makes the world a better place, it doesn't matter which one. Whether Christian, Jew, Muslim, Wicca, Hindu, and belief at all if you look at people involved in their belief they are much happier people.
It's just the fundies and terrorists that make religion look bad but don't judge everybody because of the actions of a few.

Perhaps it's not the guitarist who has changed. It's how you feel about him that has changed.

Religion can get in the way of many things, whether we agree with it or not. However, that doesn't make it invalid.

You got to be kidding.

Friend, things change. People change, situations change, life goes on.

People make decisions to leave jobs, get married, have children, move to Alaska, change churches, change clothes, change bedsheets, change their hairstyle, change their socks.....

If this amazing guitar player decided to quit the band because he felt God wanted him to - or for whatever reason - don't blame a "certain religion". Blame time, blame the universe, blame God, blame man's God-given ability to think - but don't blame a "certain religion".

and -just between you and me - I believe God will honor us as we honor Him with our lives.

Remember, if your religion doesn't affect everything you do, if it doesn't influence your decisions in life - then your God is waaay too small.

god bless

There's also the classical French poet Jean Racine, who wrote marvellous plays but then repented of using his talent for secular purposes spent the rest of his life producing religious drivel that passed for poetry.

is it religion or what this person decides in their heart? its not bout religion! some do seek God for answers. call it religion when man tries to tell his congregation what to do.
