Its a hard question, and the hard part is that Love is very difficult to explain with words I think but here I go:
I think True Love an evergiving feeling, its jealousy free, it asks nothing in return, it just gives and gives and it rejoices in that, in giving. I think one of the most important qualities of true love is that it is lust free, it goes beyond pety desires.
As you said that God is love I think so too in the way that God is always giving us all and he does not care if we are righthgeous or confused, or if we believe in him or not. He brings the sun and the rains and the light and everything and he really discriminates none. But I guess thats another topic...

If you think fantasy is true love, I feel sorry for you.
True love is loyalty FROM BOTH SIDES, no matter what. True love is trust, caring, selfless, and unconditional.
I'm sorry but your god is not full of love. He puts people in hell if they don't do as they say. That means your god is not unconditional because your god doesn't forgive unless he's asked to do so. Your god places conditions on his love. If you don't do as he says, he won't accept you into heaven.
Your god is the epitomy of selfishness.

Someone you can live with for the rest of your life, doing the every day things like shampooing the rug and doing the dishes. You are very clear in what you believe true Love to be. And this is not an " It" its a " Who"..
God in His essence is Love. He is the very source of the most amazing kind of love there is available to mankind. This is the Agape love...The unconditional, unending, purest kind of love that does not have an unterior motive or seeks for itself only.
When we are those loving the Lord in a simple pure way. Opening up our being to Him every day so that He can have a way to soften us... to keep us clear and willing in our being. That our heart are not of stone but of flesh regarding Him, THEN He is able to have His love shed abroad in our hearts. It is from this kind of intimate love for the Lord that issues in a love for others around us.. As human beings our love eventuallly looses its potency and shine. But when we are those loving the Lord.. His love is fresh.. its new.. its living and wise...its capable to go the distance inspite of persons.. things.. matters.. situations... This love matches God... Faithful... kind.. forebearing...humble...pure... deep... abiding....

Real or true love to me. Not that difficult really, for me it is loving and accepting somebody 100% without attempting to change them to suit your own criteria.

To me Love stand for mutual acceptance without condition . no prerequisite, it can be instant or acquired over time, it can happen between you and anything...... ....
It is easy to hate but difficult to love .. but in reality it is difficult to be in a hate state then in love state... as love shares, preserve, care and protect.. whereas hate distract,divide, fragment and separate with lot of pain ,
Love is god
--> Accept--> care--> share--> enjoy-->without thinking about return ... is love
