An all-powerful God could have created it in one day, or in less than one second. Why did he stretch it out? Was He pasing himself? Besides, since He created time also, and the spinning of the Earth (that's what determines a "day")... none of this 6-day stuff makes much sense.

The Earth and the spinning wasn't until Day 4.

Creation is based upon God Time, not Earth Time.

It could be billions of Earth years.

The thing is the creation of the Earth on day 4 is 2/3 the way from the creation of the universe.

Science says the universie is 14+ billion years old and Earth and Sun are about 4.5 billion years which is about 2/3 the way from the Big Bang.

Coincedence?

No one knows for sure how long God spent creating the world. Maybe he had design issues. Many scholar also disagree on what was a "day." It probbaly was not our 24-hour period.

Ally religious myths have a grain of truth to them, but over time, they become very different from the "event." So since the Earth was created a long time ago, the story has no doubt changed.

Each person has to decide what they want to believe. You can certainly believe in God and still not buy the 6-day timetable.

Read a single chapter in the Bible! Genesis chapter one please.

Here we read in verse one that God created the heavens and the earth in the beginning -- this has nothing to do with any days. The time involved can be any number of years up to as many billions as are necessary.

The length of each creative day is best understood by reading this page: (probably two or three pages worth)

It was His will. He created and then sat back and looked at
His creation and said "it is good". (sorta like a oil painter
that creates a painting and then sits back and looks at it and
says "it is good", then he decides to tackle another painting
the next day or whenever). It was also a lesson to man that we
should work and/or be busy five or six days a week, but save
one day for rest or play. How clever of Him....He did all of this
for us. What a Savior.

You will notice that the Bible doesn't say God created everything in six 24 hours days. Only man claims that. Each creative day could have been millions of years long. It is like when you say "Back in my Father's day." Your not talking about one 24 hour day, your talking about all the years that made up his life.
As for why he took so long in doing it. Who knows. It may be that is the way he wanted to do it.

God certainly could have made the universe in a blink of an eye but God is a superfluous planner. He set the example for us as a master builder, take time and build to facilitate for tomorrow. God designed the seven day week for OUR reference. It gives us a starting point where we can point and say, "God created the universe at such and such time and man is part of His creation. It also brings order to eternity for OUR benefit.

humans are humans, love arguments, the first thing God created was the "pen" (a special pen) and He commanded that pen to write the percentage of everything. God is able to create this universal within less time than that, but God created this life with reasons (Science, theories, ...). and one day is equal to one thousand years from our count.

On top of that, why would an omnipotent God (all powerful with infinite power and infinite endurance) need a day of "rest"?

It would have been more accurate if Sunday had been described by the Biblical authors as "a superfluous vacation".

It is a lie or a nonsense whatever you like. The real thing is this:
The Universe was originated by the Big Bang, since 20000 million years ago, our solar system has 4500 million years age.
Don't believe Biblical lies.

as you say he could have made it all in a second I think the 6 days in the bible is showing us he took time to create our world not necessarily 6 days.
