Agree!

Agree!

And it would extremely foolish for people to still believe...

However, the opposite is also true. If sound proof that God does exist were found, people would still not believe...

...and this is even more amazing!

In fact, even if sound proof that God existed were "found", people would explain it away.

For instance, what would be proof enough for you that God existed? For some people, the answer is: nothing.

If God Himself appeared to some people, they would say:
"Man, that was an awesome illusion or trick someone played on me!" Or, "Whoa...that was an incredible auditory and visual hallucination! Am I psychotic, or something?"

In other words, some atheists make "sound proof" an impossibility.

So...their "logic" goes as such:
1) There is no God
2) Therefore, ANY "proof" otherwise MUST be heresay, a lie, a trick, a delusion, an illusion, or just some mystery that science has yet to figure out
3) If I were to see "sound proof", THEN I would believe.
4) But since #1 and #2 are true, then there is no "sound proof"
5) Conclusion: There is no way I will ever believe.

It is a pitty, too.

For Jesus says, "IF you would believe, THEN you would see."

But atheists say, "IF I would see, THEN I would believe."

So...atheists are bitterly doomed in their catch-22...unless God miraculously intervenes on their behalf to get them out of this deception, delusion, or brain-washing!

...and this is what I hope and pray for all you atheists who read these words!

I know God can and does...as He did for me, for I use to be an atheist.

I totally agree - we'd move onto Aliens from another planet to blame for anything that has gone wrong, or to praise when anything goes right.

I don't understand how just because human beings exist, that this is proof of a God, no - it's not, it's proof that human beings exist!

Anyway, if the real truth were ever to be found, it would:
1. Be buried so deep that no one would ever find it.
2. The people trying to take the evidence to the public would be discredited, or quite possibly killed off. There's too much profit and power to be gained from religion

no doubt , oh come on , if you really ever found any sound proof at all , they will just say it's the satan doing , and since satan exist , therefore the bible is right , and thus god exist.

it is not possible to actually have a sound proof that they accept.

for the guy below me , if god appear infront of us . all atheist , agnostic will believe in the existence of god.
if the god says he's whatever religion god , everyone else will convert into whatever religion.

till date , there is no evidence that prove a single religion/doctrine to be true , and at the same time disprove every other single belief.

If sound proof was presented that there was a god, I'd believe, however, I'd want a lot of explanations to go along with it.

Given the contradictory nature of most religious writings both internally and externally, I'd say that most religious people would still believe.

its the whole reasons are still around, everything negative that happens to people is "a test of your faith", everything positive that happens is "Gods will". im christian personally i believe god died centuries ago, but then again most of my muslim friends think im crazy, so dont listen to me or whatever.
there is also the alternative belief that god and the devil are in an arms race, and we are the soldiers, however during life we pick whos side were on. the same with ww2, if hitler won the allies would be the bad guys, i suspect that god won, therefore lucifer is the bad guy. its all about perspective.

personally i like to join the underdogs.

I think your question is not based around believing or not believing in God. It is a question about humanity and our inherent nature. Humans are made the same regardless of what we believe - so you are really asking whether or not a human being would continue to believe in something after evidence proves their belief inaccurate. There is history of this throughout the ages - the world being flat for instance - there are still people out there who believe it.

First: people don't believe, not everyone.
Second: even if video proof will be found, I will not accept it, simply because some things are just not as simple as they look and truth can sometimes prove false yet in reality it remains the same no matter how we prove or understand it.

Scientific method and hypothesis testing states that you can never disprove your hypothesis, you can only fail to prove it.
So your question is purely rhetorical. You would have to test Gods existance with the following hypothesis.

"To test the existance of a higher being"

Then you experiment to try and prove the existance. If you fail to prove God's existance, you would report the findings as

"The evidence failed to support the existance of God to a 80% confidence level'

But you can never disprove anything in science.

You could say that through science we have ALREADY proved that vast parts of holy books such as the bible could not have happened.

The problem lies with religious people in that if you get them to admit that a part of the bible could not have happened (such as adam, eve, an apple and a talking snake) then they have to accept that other parts of it could be wrong and they just wont do that.

But of course i forgot, we're not supposed to be taking these parts literally as we?ha ha

.........................................
Sorry but i have to add this for louis above.

There are humans, animals and plants on this earth, how the hell does that become PROOF that God exists?

That's not proof, it's not hard evidence, there's no facts to support it, just because something is there you can't automatically say he created it.
Your a brainwashed fool and exactly the type of person the question is aimed at.
