amarugian, picking some recyable at landfill doesn't make a big impact on public, I'm afraid.

the rich would still be able to buy their way out of it, i'm afraid.

maybe a less violent punishment, like spending time picking recyclable materials out of a landfill.

I'd prefer public canings and public floggings to the current methods. It's less dehumanizing because it's over quickly.

The prison system is too expensive, ruins too many lives, allows too many convicted of victimless crimes to spend years and decades in jail at public expense being raped and beaten by fellow prisoners and prison personnel.

Public flogging quickly performed and left behind would be far less expensive, damaging and preferable. And it would reduce the need for building more prisons, hiring more guards and other personnel.

No new communities would be cursed with having a prison located outside town.

Well I for one would not want to live near the moron they get to do the caning but some people have a higher pain threshold than others and I guess most healthy strong young people would be hurt less than frail old people.
