it really does depend on who you are going to get tattooed by. it is very likely that you will not be able to complete a full half sleeve in one sitting because your artist won't be able to tattoo you for the 5-10 hours straight that it could take (depending on their speed and the design itself.) as well as your ability to stand the pain. tattoos hurt but the longer the session is the more it hurts and your endorphines will not keep up with the pain.
another factor in cost is how much does your artist charge? does he charge by the hour? or by the design itself? mine charges $100 an hour so i know that if i'm planning on sitting for three hours (the longest i am willing to sit there at one time) that i will need to bring $300 but i usually bring an extra hundred just in case i can stand the pain and he is motivated to do some more. i suggest calling the artist or asking during the consultation how much money you will need to bring for the first session. but without knowing any of the circumstances of your tattoo or artist i would say that a half sleeve could cost $300 (for a very cheaply priced tattoo artist and one that i wouldn't let touch me with a needle and ink) up to $5,000 from a world class amazing artist, which sometimes you do end up paying for the "name brand" but there is definite talent there too.

if you need help finding an artist in your area i'd be glad to help.
good luck!

I would assume you've already talked to an artist and set up an appointment because that type of tattoo generally isn't a walk in. And usually doesn't happen in one sitting. If you've already talked to an artist about design, etc., they should have given you a general idea of cost because it is based on time.
My husband is working on his half sleeve for the upper arm and it's about half finished and he's up to about $700ish, not including tips. That's a rough estimate from what I can remember because it's been a couple of sittings.

Honestly, it depends upon who you move to. But part sleeves, relying on if colour is getting used or now not and type, generally run wherever from 500 to a thousand greenbacks. Tribal sleeves can be your least high-priced alternative, however in case you had been going for a portraiture or anything tricky, it's going to fee extra.

Tattoos are usually about 100 an hour. You should go and see an artist (the one you will be using) it's going to depend on how much detail etc is in the sleeve. Good luck:)

I would call where ever you plan on going and get an estimate. Tell them about what you want and get a approximation of how much it will be. Take a little bit more just in case they didn't fully understand your design.
