Bbq Shrimp

This is one of our all-time favorite recipes.I have made this often and it doesn't provide leftovers. WARNING: There is nothing low fat and/or healthy about this recipe. Don't even subject yourself to looking in the casserole dish after the sauce solidifies. It almost makes me feel guilty. Don't substitute margarine for the butter.

1-2 lb shrimp, peeled
1/2 lb bacon
1 1/2 cups butter
1 tablespoon Grey Poupon
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
1/4 teaspoon basil
1/4 teaspoon thyme
2 garlic cloves, pressed
1/2 teaspoon oregano
2 tablespoons chopped onions
1 1/2 teaspoons crab boil

Chop bacon and fry. Drain grease.
Add 3 sticks butter and melt on low heat. Add remaining ingredients except shrimp.
Place shrimp in a single layer in shallow casserole. Pour sauce over shrimp.
Bake 15 minutes at 375.
Serve with crusty french bread.

You're better off NOT making a hot dish with the shrimp. It will overcook when you try to make your dish. Not to mention, the flavor is already locked out since they are cooked. Try a nice shrimp or seafood salad. Or maybe even a shrimp dip. You could also make some neat hors d'oeurves, like shrimp wraps or canapes...

Thaw the shrimp, keep it cold. Get some chili sauce, add horseradish and a dash of Worcestershire, viola!

4 large tomatoes, seeded and diced
6 limes, juiced
4 lemons, juiced
1 cup cilantro leaves, chopped
1 serrano chile, seeded and finely chopped
1/2 of a cucumber, peeled and diced
1 red onion, diced
salt and pepper to taste
3 tablespoons tomato sauce(unless you can find Clamato)
PREPARATION:
Lay out shrimp in the bottom of glass baking dish. Pour lemon and lime juice over them and refrigerate for 3 hours. The juice will "cook" the shrimp. Toss with remaining ingredients and refrigerate for one more hour or longer.

Instead of giving you recipes, I am going to give you some websites that you can go to and get thousands of recipes. Try www.foodnetwork.com and www.allrecipes.com. These are two very good places to start and have a huge variety of recipes to choose from. Some of the better one are Rachael Ray, Giada DeLaurantis and Paula Dean. They all do a lot with seafood and shrimp. Good Luck....
