It depends on what sort of fungus. Many attack the skin -- that requires a dermatologist. A yeast infection is caused by a fungus (then you need an obgyn). You might want to start with your general practitioner because some common fungal infections are easy to diagnose and cure. Even if your primary care doctor can't help, s/he can send you in the right direction.

Digestion is an important one with the stomach being acidic and the upper small intestine being quite alkline...this is primarily due to the function of enzymes which are quite specific to the condtions ( eg pH sensitive but could also be temp etc). If the pH changes in these places then the enzymes do not function as well and you are not able get as mnay nutrients out of your food as you could. I know the blood is slightly alkaline....I'm not sure of the reason here.

If it is a skin fungus, see a dermatologist. If it is a systemic infection (you would probably be very sick), see an infectious disease specialist or a clinical mycologist.
