After two days or so, the pain recedes and she is okay until it occurs again after three months or so. What could it be?

She needs to see a doctor as soon as possible, it could be many things but only an expert can give an accurate answer. My friend had terrible problems with hip pain, she needs a hip replacement and she's only 36. Please tell her to go and see her GP, it may be nothing, it may be serious.

You should check this Sciatica Natural Treatment

Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication
I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.
I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica. Try a reputable chiropractor ASAP!

Its most likely her sciatic nerve. It is deceiving because most people think that it will just show up in the back. Not True, mine manifested in my hip and I was to the point that I swore I needed a hip replacement or something it hurt sooooo bad. lol
The sciatic nerve runs from the middle of your lower back across to the hips, down your thigh and knee across your shin and in towards your big toe. The pain can manifest itself anywhere along the way. Usually I have learned, the hip is the most common place.
The most common reason for the sciatic nerve to inflame like that is because of a bulging or herniated disc putting pressure on it. In these early stages that she is going through, she could probably take care of it with some physical therapy and/or maybe a steroid dose to end the swelling. Please avoid chiropractors, although there are many, many good ones out there, it is just not a good idea to go to one independently unless your medical doctor recommends you go. I have met alot of people who where injured worse than they were before they went.
Sciatic Nerve problems usually don't take care of themselves, they will likely need treatment at some point, and can become extremely, indescribably painful. So, I wish her luck and hope that the cause for it is something minor!!

She should see a doctor. She may have nerve damage that is only sensitive at times, like after a lot of exercise. She may also have a hip joint made weak by diseases like arthritis. It's really worth a trip to the DR.

I'd be concerned that it's sciatic nerve pain. It's located in the lower back, but causes severe pain in the hip. This isn't something a chiropractor can fix or even help - you need a real medical opinion.

Like all joints they wear away, she needs to see a doctor to ascertain the problem, and do it sooner than later as the longer she leaves it the more the pain, and it could result in having a hip replaced.

Pain that severe that takes 3 months to recurr?? well i dont know.. because a mislocated hip would not go away for three months and an arthritis is the same.

The answers on top are right. see a doctor.

Im not a Dr. but ask her to see a qualified Orthopedic Doctor. My father had this tragic pain, without knowing it led to be a Big C.
The Dr. said if it was diagnosed earlier it could be treated because it only started as a TB of the bone. Sorry if I caused you any worries.

If his sister is changing his passwords, then he wishes to get into his debts and change these passwords himself to ones that she would not recognize. That way, she cannot fiddle with his passwords or his bills anymore. No matter how so much you love any individual, there are areas on line that no person should be capable to access but the account holder.

Arthritis can be a possibility but the only way to know for sure is for her to see her doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they think could be causing this.
