They are very similar. Both the Bible and Quran tell them to stone people. Both can be extremely intolerant....ironically towards eachother. Both enjoy condemning people who are not of their faith and don't see how dangerous it is to have that "belief". Both view eachother as terrorists, terrorizing their country. Both think everyone in the world should convert to their beliefs. Both have messengers who i think are half brothers or possibly distant cousins. If they are family, its no wonder they can't stand each other.

Are they basically the same kind of people, possibly related?

Not related by blood necessarily but related when it comes to their religion. Both are 2 of the 3 Abrahamic religions. The 3rd one is the Jewish faith.
The bible and the quran are very similar, as is the torah, which is basically the old testament, though there's books in the torah that the bible and quran don't have. The "messengers' are Jesus and Mohammed but both religions are from Abraham, the christians claim descent through Isaac, Abraham's son by his wife Sarah, while the Muslims claim descent from Ishmael, Abraham's son by his wife's handmaiden, Hagar. There is still some dispute over the roles of Ishmael and Isaac.
It is the irony that three Abrahamic religions are the ones to have fought and warred the most with each other and persecuted other religions the most. If it wasn't for the fact that they constantly drag the rest of us into their conflicts, I would give each of them an uzi and let them at it...

EDIT - additionally, in answer to your addition to crazy_ivan, islam is NOT older than christianity. Mohammed preached in the 7th century CE [or AD], while Jesus preached in the 1st century CE [or AD]. That is why the Islamic calendar states its the year 1427, reckoning from Mohammed's time, whilst our western calendar reckons the time from when Jesus was supposedly born and thus we are in 2007. Both are of course younger than the Jewish faith, which was the first Abrahamic religion and the one from which the other two derive.

It's very funny the analogy you present about family and Jesus and Mohammed and it probably is true. Now how is that about Islam being older than Christianity?
as to the question itself, yes, it must be true, they both much alike, violently accusing the other of having done this or that, of being terrorists, trying to convert every person, animal, plant or rock they come across ;)
To me those are not real Christians or Muslims, they just crazy extremists and as such they do the same.

ولن تجد لسنة اللة تحويلأ The word of God is the same at all time never change but human change in their way in some books like the (Bible) and the one that Jews have their book (?) but it have the same point of view for the earth law.
But in the Quran nothing like that will change, just because god told us that Quran will never change. Even they tried their beast they will never succeed. Quran is not about you have to be one of us or something but it is because you have to be notified that there is a big day that no one would miss it. and I will say when I have been asked did you tell people about it do they know about it? I would answer like I was answering in life like this: اللهم انى بلغت اللهم فشهد .

We all are a reflection of each other. Just because we have communalised ourselves, doesn't change the basic fact.

This holier than thou attitude is the worst thing that can happen to us all. Communities are the distortions of the Truth.

We all are same beings(waves) and owe our existence to the ocean. A wave should not challenge the fellow wave. Both are going to merge in the ocean.

This is for the mockers and scoffers....

The lake of fire is the ultimate destination of everything wicked--Satan, the beast, the false prophet, the demons, death, the grave, and all those whose names are not recorded in the Book of Life because they did not place their faith in Jesus Christ. John's vision does not permit any gray areas in God's judgment. If by faith we have not identified with Christ, confessed him as Lord, there will be no hope, no second chance, no other appeal.

I will pray that you accept Jesus as your Savior and I will forgive you for being ignorant of the Bible. You might want to read it.

No, not related. We serve different gods. The god of Islam teaches it is good to blow up non-believers, and if you do so in the name of gehad then you will go straight to heaven, where as the God of Christianity tells their people to love those that hate you even. The same? i think not

I very much think so.. im a roman catholic and I know for a fact that catholicism branches off from muslimanity...so basically, if Jesus hadnt come along and we didn't accept him as the saviour of thew world...a majority of the world's population would be consisting of Muslims.
