I just got my new kitten she is 8 weeks old. I think she was neglected because she is very skinny and almost afraid I have had her for one day and she seems to be opening up and doing better. For some reason her spine feels very bumpy. I have another kitty and her spine doesnt feel this way she isnt as skinny either. Is my kittys spine ok? I am going to take her to the vet next week when my other kitty goes for her second distemper but I want to know if anyone out there knows if this is ok?

I have had cats and dogs all my life adn I have seen just about anything. Your kitty just needs some good canned food to get some meat on its bones. Once it startes feeling better it will strt playing more and the muscles will grow around its back. Right now the muscles are staying small from not being used as much as they should. But once it gets to feeling better it will start looking better. And dont forget to get it wormed. Baby kitties are bad about getting worms. That will cause the kitty to be weak and sickly looking.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

She's probably just underfed and needs worming.I just took in a kitten three weeks ago,and she was very bony, with a terribly bloated belly. She's been wormed twice and has been eating like a little pig,and she's gone from just over a pound to over 3 lbs! Could you weigh the kitten and get some wormer from your vet until your appointment? That, and plenty of kitten food should have her plumped up in no time.

a lot could be a factor here.. fairly there's no longer a lot you're able to do until eventually the vet see's it.. yet whilst it seems fairly youthful then bypass to the save and get a watch dropper (elective, if its walking it could no longer desire it) and PEDIALITE.. it could be dehidrated and disoriented.. get it in like a single heat room.. a robust attempt to dehidration is pinching the neck slightly below the back of the top.. (thoroughly humane) and enable bypass.. if it maintains to be up its dehidrated, if it springs back withing 2 sec or much less then its ok.. could be disoriented, liek i pronounced suitable guess is the vet, no count if it extremely is dehidrated purely supply it pedialite untill the floor acts in many situations then supply it canned foodstuff.. additionally if it form of feels chilly take a prior soda bottle and fill it with warm (no longer scalding yet above heat) and seal it.. wrap it in a towel a minimum of thrice over (to evade burns yet heat temperature, it additionally makes the warmth final longer) and place the kitten next to it earlier giving any foodstuff if it feels chilly. wish this facilitates.. please replace no count if it extremely is hydrated or no longer. ty
