Many of the ones that post here secretly want to know more about Jesus and are afraid to ask " real" people becasue they make make fun of them.
They can ask here and get to know more.
One thing they do though is try to tick Chistians off so we'll retaliate and they can use that as an excuse to steer clear because " Christians are no different than anyone else" as they say.
Watch what they say over the next few days and see for yourself.

We don't believe the opposite of religion. We just don't believe period. There is a huge difference and you would do well to learn that. Are we cruising for a fight on the wrong side of town, or just arguing for stimulation? Actually neither but why do you arrogantly assume that this is your part of town? The R&S section of yahoo answers is for anyone with a view on religion and spirituality. The reason a lot of atheist come here, is to provide logical arguments against your delusional religion. Yes it is a form of mass delusion. When some one can provide concrete scientific evidence that god exist, and no one ever has, then you can convince me that your claims are real and that you have not been brainwashed into believing something that isn't. The reason we wish to provide arguments against your religion is because it is harmful. More people have died for your religion than for any other reason in history. Religion has slowed the progression of science, by opposing any idea that does not agree with it's teachings. Religion has been used to control and manipulate mankind through the ages and I for one will try to do my part to rid mankind of this disease. It is harmful to us as a people and is no longer needed. This is why I argue against religion, every chance I get. Besides, if your bible is the truth like you claim, what better test. You should easily be able to put down any argument an atheist puts up against it. If it can't that is telling you something.

You may be surprised how much atheists know about religion, and the Bible, and the Koran, and many other religious topics. You want explore your beliefs? Then maybe you should not just discard what other people say just because you do not agree with their views. Knowledge is enlightening, in most peoples view anyway. Besides, just because one is not religious, that doesn't mean they are not spiritual. And this is Religion & Spirituality.
If you really want honest answers, and you really want an unbiased view of many different religious and spiritual topics, than this is still a good place to ask questions. Here you wont be coddled and fed the idea that there is only one view on religious topics.

So, basically you're saying "Who do atheists post here?"
Sounds like a cue for something... a drink, maybe?
Okay, here is an honest answer to your question: I post here because I know my fair share about the Bible and I find religion interesting. I feel like I have said this a hundred times.
Oh, and "kenny p", shut the hell up.

We come here to discuss aspects of religion and spirituality. Then again, if atheists weren't here for you to complain about I'd imagine you'd have a problem with all the Muslims or Hindus on the board or something like that.

Let's make a deal: You promise me that nobody ever gets hurt by your religion again, and I'll never discuss it again.
In the meantime, more americans are killed every year by christian opposition to medical progress than by terrorists.
Read Letter to a Christian Nation if you want to understand how harmful your religion is.

I want to burn down every church...and build schools
I want to destroy every bible and replace it with History books
I want to infiltrate every religious radio station and have them play book readings...good books not bible crap
BUT
see they'll throw me in jail and make a bad guy out of me for that....so i sit here and talk with all you fine christian folks.
and it pays off as i often get messages of people saying...
"i never knew that was in my bible"
"wow, I never knew"
i get them to read that vile book you all think is so great, read it and understand it
not by changing the meaning of words, or adding twisted logic to them...just...read them.
that's why i am here =)
now...whats your reason for being here?...why preach to the quire?
