Or do you prefer to rely on common sense instead...?

You must forgive them for their shortcomings for they they know not what they do...

Christians, as well as Jews and Muslims, are following the guidelines of their individual books in order to decide what common sense already tells them. They don't quite see that they are acting according to their own decisions, for the most part, and fitting those decisions to an appropriate rule from their particular holey book as an after thought.

Some of them also don't seem to recognize when they are offering honest counsel to themselves and when they are not. This self-deception is quite a hypocritical situation.

Ask yourself is it common sense because of the book or is it really common sense. A sociologist would have a field day with that question. There is really no such thing as an intrinsic common sense but instead a common sense that has been ingrained into you by the culture in which you live, a culture you live in which includes the wisdom of said 3000 year old book.

If you look at the world as a whole and the poopy state it is in , it is obvious that man needs guidance.

The Bible indeed does give such good advice , but again , as you can plainly see, the majority of people in the world do not follow it.
They would rather follow the ways of their father Satan , and oppress , destroy , and kill their fellow man.

True Christians are not like this.
They follow and display peace in all their ways , while at the same time proclaiming the coming new world under Christ that will soon do away with all opposer's of righteousness.

We'd have a better world if SOME people used both: the book and their common sense.

sure he's the comparable God. The bible says "i'm the comparable the former day immediately and the following day." And the God of the previous testomony improve into no longer hate crammed and vengeful, i think of somewhat some human beings study into that, yet interior the recent testomony we examine eternal hearth and hell it fairly is a lot worse than getting stoned to dying isn't it?

No, I don't need a three thousand year old book to tell me not to kill. I'm not a sociopath. Only sociopaths need the threat of hell to stop them from doing bad things that harm other people.

Oh, and I am a Christian.

it is GOD that gave us common sense.
for you got to go back to the past.
before NOAH..the great flood..what did man do?
he rape, he murder, he abuse..he pervert..on and on..and think on this..after NOAH..man was restriect to live 120 years..so before NOAH..man lived many of hundreds of years.
So things back then..we're very violent, vile, ect..and guess what..we are seeing just a HINT of it now..just like the bible predicted in our LAST GENERATION..70=100 years.since 1967..we're at 40 years now.
we don't know the day or hour..we just know..this is the season..of last generation..it could end in 10 years..at jubilee.(50years)..yet..might need to minus 7 years for the GREAT TEERIBLE tribulation of satan abuse and GOD judgement on the sinners.
so tha give us 3 years..humm...wow..could be true to.
for jesus..witness 3 1/3 1/2 years..humm.
anyway.
MOSES brought FORTH the LAW
Elijah represent the PROPHETS..the voice of GOD.
JESUS..represent.the solution and fullfillment of the law and prophecies.
SO ..now we are in the age of choice..the age of grace.mercy.
it is a free gift..to accept salvation.>NOW".
for if you died for whatever incident..do you know..where ya going? the body dies..it is a tent.but the spirit and soul lives..on..a choice of heaven of LOVE..or hell of misery.

hmmmmmmm.
I think people need THE book

Look at all the killing that is going on everywhere now, schools, post offices, work places, children killing children.

I believe a lot of this is from trying to remove God from our lives over the past 40 years.
