Absolutely they should. My sister was paid child support for her two daughters yet my grandmother ( my neices great grandmother pushing 83years ) raised them while my sister had plenty of party money. It's terribly wrong. The elderly should be done with raising babies yet I see it all the time.
Even better, people should quit humping each other until they are responsible enough to care for their own children.
The elderly should be able to sit back and vacation often.

If they are taking care of the children in a permanant type situation then yes. But I would venture to say that in those cases it would be probably hard to get otherwise the grandparents would not be taking care of the children in the first place. If they are just babysitting then no, the parents could show them appreciation sometimes but the grandparents can also say no that my friend is the advantage of being the grandparent.

If your talking about perminant care then yes they should be getting paid for it you can't expect them to support the grandchild on a pension, but if your talking about baby sitting, like when the parents are at work and some gandparents look after their grandkids then no, I know my mom would'nt ask me for money to look after my child while I'm at work, that kinda sounds weird to me I don't know any grandparent that will take money to look afte the grandkid.

Not necessarily if it is only an occasional thing. A small gift of appreciation, would not be out of the question, however. Pick up their favorite dessert, or something to show that you do appreciate their help. If it is a regular thing, definitely yes they should be offered payment!!!

It is child support. Whether the caretaker is one parent, the grandparents or foster parents, it is up to the natural parents to pay for the support of the kids they brought into the world.

Yes. Old people need to get a life too and not raise their children's children all over again.

Absolutely. They can even go for child support. But I think most do it out of love or maybe a must, yet they do it.
