Jesus died for you......and all of us for that matter.
"No man comes to the Father but through me...........Jesus Christ".
I pray to the Father through Jesus...." in the name of Jesus"
I believe that is the way a person should pray but I don't know of any scripture that says you can't pray to Jesus. I definately think He should be thanked for what He did for us.

When the Lord said that in the Old Testament, He was meaning that He does not want anyone to serve anything or anyone else but Him and He was talking to the Isrealites when He said this. God has our best interest at heart and He knows that there isn't anything that is above Him. Jesus came to bring about Salvation, but, remember that Jesus is the Son of God and that you cannot separate the Holy Triune: God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit, please don't try to set one aside from the other. When we pray we pray "in Jesus name" because He said that "no man can come unto to the Father accept by Me". You pray in faith believing that God will.

Just compare the following scriptures from the bible:
John 6:43-47
"Stop grumbling among yourselves," Jesus answered. "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the Prophets: 'They will all be taught by God.' Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me. No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father. I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life.
Luke 4:8
Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.' (see deut. 6:13)
philipians 2:5,6
Think the same way Jesus Christ thought. He was in every way like God. Yet he did not think that being equal to God was something he must hold on to.
John 14:13-14,28
I will do anything you ask of my Father in my name. In that way the Son will make my Father's name great. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.' You heard me say, "I am going away and then I will come back to you." If you really loved me, then you would have been very glad that I am going to my Father. My Father is greater than I am.
By the way, I find it very fascinating that people can believe that Jesus is God, that he died, didn't exist for three day and then resurrected himself. 8)
O and about the prayer that Jesus thought his disciples, before giving them the instructions about how to pray he said:
"And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words. So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him." - Matthew 6:7,8

Jesus came to represent God His Heavenly Father. They are one in purpose toward all God's creation. Yes it is more than okay to talk to God the Father, His Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit! Jesus is the physical representation of the spiritual presence of God. Prayer is nothing more than having a conversation with God, Jesus or the HolySpirit. As you become more acquainted with God through His word, you will feel at ease about this. Not to worry.

The Holy Trinity is God the father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, all God. Pray to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, they are all the one God.
While you are studying, pray for the Holy Spirit to give you understanding. And when you just don't know what to say, ask the Holy Spirit to intercede for you.
God be with you,

The Old Testament teaches us not to worship anything or anyone other than God as only in our faith in the Goodness of God can we come to know Him.
God sent Jesus to Earth as a new covenant to mankind to meet the demands of our rapidly developing intelligence. In a sense Jesus is God's ambassador to Earth.
The concept of the Trinity is that God the father, Jesus the son and the Grace of the Holy Spirit are as one. When you pray to Jesus you are indeed praying to God.
God Bless...!

Jesus is God. God has three forms: the father, the son, and the Holy spirit. By all means pray to Jesus if you want to. He is God, in essence.

Those are good questions.
Jesus provided the required ransom for us to be redeemed from sin , but he cannot forgive our sins.
We must use prayer to request this from his father Jehovah God personally.
It is not a jealousy thing , but just a fact that because of Adamic imperfection we have fallen short and sinned against Gods standards , not Jesus.
Praying in Jesus name means that we recognize that Jesus's sacrifice was what was required to save mankind.
Prayer through Jesus , or in Jesus name , is the 'way' that God accepts our prayers.
Not through the saints , not Mary , no priest , no one.
Pray to Jehovah God , through his son Jesus Christ.
If your life is in harmony with what God requires of you , he WILL listen. !

Good question, "pray in this manner, Our father who art in heaven" Jesus never made the claims attributed to him by the council of Trent 325 ad. Ariana's fought the majority who were trying to turn the man Jesus into a God, but lost to the, what some would call, "the devils work". "Call no man father, but he who is in heaven". Over and over he told his followers that he was the son of man, but the church perverted his words and now most Christians are as far from the Truth as Bin laden.
