Yes, I was an atheist but when I was depressed and someone told me about Jesus I started to follow Him and get baptized(full immersion) and go to Church. Now my life is better and I don't think about suicide anymore.

I was a Buddhist now Christian. There are numerous evidences to support God's existence and validity of the Bible. It depends whether we have an open mind and willing to put away our pride and hurts to seek the evidence like a scholar, reporter, and researcher. Please check out prophecycode.com, helltruth.com, s8int.com. watch all the videos on prophecycode.com and you will learn that Christianity is more than faith based but evidence based as well. Dont let the overzealous hypocritical Christians or our lack of understanding some Biblical concepts, the hurts and pain in our life stop us from finding the true God of love which is seen through Jesus Christ. Youtube videos why people convert to Christianity and seek God with all of your heart. Seriously look at ykur own heart and ask yourself at the deepest root of it all...why do we decide not to believe in God? You see evil in the world? Were you hurt by Christians? You suffered in life? There are answers to your questions.

I grew up a Christian... I am now an agnostic. Unless someone shows me concrete evidence that God exists... I won't believe you... just as the court of law relies on concrete evidence to decide on their verdicts... and just as the scientific community relies on concrete evidence.

Well, I was only strictly an atheist from when I was thirteen, until I was almost sixteen. From five to thirteen, I was a skeptic. I had a LOT of issues with the stories in the Bible, and I was tired of getting told to "just have faith." No one could answer my questions, not about Noah's ark, not about how David killed Goliath with a pebble, not about why bad things happened to good people, why hell existed, Balaam's talking donkey, the serpent that talked to Eve, Adam and Eve, Genesis, Biblical contradictions, NONE of it.

Anyway, when I was fifteen (almost sixteen) I got into a form of Wicca. It was sort of an eclectic Wicca, but I didn't go by the book. I thought that true witchcraft was deeper than any book, and certainly older than the religion that now calls itself Wicca. I know that Wicca has its roots in older things, but I was trying to get to THE root of all religion. I figured the older a religion was, the more right it was.

Then after almost six years of that, I realized that Wicca WASN'T all good. That's a long story, and most people here probably wouldn't believe it.

So I became sort of a non-religious theist. I was very much anti-organized religion. I liked Wicca because I DIDN'T have to follow by the book in order to consider myself pagan/Wiccan. I could just loosely follow the rituals, celebrate various "holidays", and use whichever spells worked for me (usually Runic spells worked best).

This lasted for about four, almost five years. During that time, I devoted myself to the study of other religions. Before I became Wiccan, I had studied Islam and LaVeyan Satanism, and I had studied various mythology for several years, since I was about seven (that's when I became interested in Egyptian mythology). After giving up Wicca, I studied Islam some more, plus Buddhism, Hinduism, Mithraism, Zoroastrianism, and I made a more in-depth study of Christian apologetics.

I liked the pantheistic approach (finding God within oneself), but I also believed that there were MANY gods and goddesses, and none of them was the "one true God."

After nearly five years of study (preceded by the years in which I was a skeptic, an atheist, Wiccan, and a nonreligious theist), I became a Christian. This was ten months ago, though I held Christian beliefs for about a year prior to that. What caused me to take the plunge? I finally found enough answers to my questions to make me take the rest on faith. As soon as I got to the point where I found enough evidence to believe that Jesus had existed, and He was who He said He was (and who the Bible said He was), most of my doubts vanished. The few that were left were so tiny they were nearly insignificant. And the more time I spend on here, going to atheist sites and watching movies like Zeitgeist, the more sure my faith becomes. Strange how that works.

I think because I spent so long in doubt, my foundation in Christianity is rock hard, and there is very little (if anything) that can sway me now.

I envy the people who have never questioned it, who have ALWAYS been Christians, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I am who I am today because of my experience.

I hope this answers your question, even though I wasn't an atheist for very long.

I was a Christian who became an atheist, who returned to Christianity for a very short while, and is now happily settled as an agnostic deist.

If you want to know my particular situation and what made me return to Christianity (even though it didn't stick), feel free to e-mail me or IM me. I'm not going into it at length in a public forum.

My friend was an atheist, turned not so much christian, but began to believe in a higher power, and is going to church with me more now. All it took for her was comming to church with me, and asking me questions about accepting the lord.

What most CHRISTIANS don't understand is that the more you try to convert Atheist the farther away they get.

How can you convince a person that God exists when all you have are feelings and the Bible?

Arguing with people that you are right and they are wrong only hardens their hearts.

Telling an Atheist they will Go to HELL only makes them think all Christians are NUTS!

Most of the Atheist I have met have either been raised by Atheist or became Atheist after being hurt by over zealous Christians.

are u doubting ur faith. i know sum ppl who have turned Christian a lot of them are from Islam and Hinduism and sum are even Atheists.
they turned Christan cos they understood our religion a lot better and they were surprised at the love GOD had shown by sending his son and JESUS by dying on the cross for us just so that we can be saved. the love shown by JESUS and GOD is the love that even when the whole world's love is put together it is nothing compared to the love of JESUS and GOD.
Dont doubt ur faith.
Best of Luck
