What are your survival skills or smarts you can share with us here?

I have heard that if someone tried to make you go with them anywhere, say they have a gun to your back, that you still should try to run for it. The chances of your survival are next to nil if you get into a vehicle with a stranger. Also the chance of someone hitting a fast moving target in a "deadly area" is low. Other tip I can share is that is you are thrown in a trunk, you should kick/punch out taillight-easy to do and wave something out hole. My best tip as a lady to other ladies is when walking thur a isolated area or other scary place, LOOK MEAN. If someone starts to approach you, glare at them. If you act mean , most people will go the other way. Most rapist and murderers are looking for easy target- meek, will not fight back. Show who's boss ladies! Also, ALWAYS carry your charged up cellphone with you in a pocket that is easily accessible. If some scary person comes toward you make a call. If you have a dead cell phone try talking on it anyway. If you are perceived as having a conversation with someone, a perp will think twice before coming after you- he/she knows that you can blurt out something before they can get that phone away from you.

If you are threatened, contact your local law enforcement immediately. They can send officers to protect you, to defuse the situation, and/or to educate you on how to get a restraining order against the offender.

The best strategy for abduction is to NOT be abducted. Keep your eyes open and your senses alert in public. Don't do stupid things. Don't go to dark places, such as alleys and/or some parking lots at night, by yourself. Keep your doors locked. That kind of thing.

In the event that someone attempts to abduct you, you have a very high probability of surviving the event if you do NOT cooperate. Resistance at this point is VITAL. Drive off. Run away. Seek help immediately. Even if the offender is armed and threatens to shoot, there is a high liklihood that they will miss, and, whether you're hit or not, there is a very high liklihood of your survival. The vast, overwhelming number of fatalities from instances of abduction result from the victim cooperating with the abducter. Those who submit to their captors have an extremely low chance of survival. Don't let yourself be abducted.

However, if one has already been abducted somehow, then, at that point, you have nothing to lose by attempting to escape and/or fighting in hopes of disabling your abducter. In this situation, you are fighting for your life! Make the situation so costly that the threat will either be completely disabled or the abducter will abandon you.

abandon your Phone number
and get new one, note
down the phone number, time etc.
report to police with these details and they
will trace the calls and their location.
In any case report to police/authorities,
they are best at handling this.
Bribe the police if they demand
(this is best protection)
after they have taken the bait,
they will get those criminals.
If they dont take bribe then also
they will catch them or enlist them as offenders.
Do not resist evil with evil
else you are also an offender &
authorities wont help you.
In any case , keep a record of all their
minute activities.
Keep a diary.
If abducted , shout and get attract attention
some good man or official will listen.

There are so many ways to deter a single attacker or even two attackers and not enough room to really get into here. Some of the ways that you can protect yourself though is go for the eyes with stiffened fingers or their privates with an iron grip. Another is to carry a small spray bottle you can get to quickly without having to dig through a purse for and fill it with water or extra virgin olive oil and the powder made from dried scotch bonnets(polite name for habenero chiles). If you use the oil it will stick to your attacker. Police say that you cannot do that to some one bent on destroying your body or life because it is so caustic. In my mind that is just a free ticket to an attacker to do what he/she wants because they know you cannot do anything to harm them. Believe me the cayenne pepper spray will stay with them a lot longer than a jail sentence. It will burn like the fires of hell, but it won't do anything in the long run other than to make their eyes stronger. Rinsing several times with pure water will ease the pain and by that time they should be in jail. Oh yeah, you can also spray them in the mouth.

Depends on the threat, I would react accordingly.

If I were abducted, I would try to hit the person with something and knock them out when I got a clear shot chance, and make a run for it.

Request a pamphlet from your local police or library to answer this.

Number 1 rule, don`t get yourself killed.
Remind the attacker the consequence of his action.
Carry 'mace'.Always carry a weapon of some kind, to use as last resort... Pen is good---thrust to opponents eye. Object is to dis-able, not just hurt! (assuming you have practiced thrusting with confidence!)
If the opponent is attempting rape, tell him you`ve got aids.
Stink spray! (From the pamphlet) more than likely, a rapist is likely to dis-continue his efforts! (You could SH** your pants!)

The only thing that I could contribute was what my brother did when he was kidnapped at gun point outside his home in VA.

As he left for work an AWOL solider hid behind his small boat waiting for him. As he got in his car the gunman held the gun t his head and told him to get in the car and drive.

He did just what the gunman told him to do!! (and I would have too, unless I fainted)

His wife was watching at the window with their new baby in her arms. She immediately called the police.

The gunman told my brother to drive, but to first stop and get gas,,,the whole time holding a gun to him. They did that ten he told him to drive to a deserted part of town.

He told my brother to get and and give him his wallet. My brother did.

The gunman told my brother to start walking to a wood line far off the road. My brother said he just knew he was going to kill him because the gunman kept saying he was. "Keep walking, I'm going to kill you!!"

The next thing my brother heard was the motor of the car speeding off. My brother made it back into town and they finally found his car in Washington State. Stripped and left bare. They never found the AWOL solider.....wonder how he feels today. Wonder if it ever haunts his mind.

I promise this happened and it was a scary situation. We did not learn about it here at home until all was settled. Not to upset my parents too much.

I would kick and scream, not allow myself to be moved to location number 2 and keep several types of weapons on me. I have pepper spray and a taser gun. No one is messin with this beyotch.

i wonder wat this question is doing in religion and spirituality. But i would pray to the LORD to help me and save me from the danger. Say Psalms 23. i would pray for the power and strength to fight of whoever has abducted me.

I have been robbed at gun point twice and tended to try to keep the robbers calm by remaining calm myself. Hope this helps.
