Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
This is what you must memorize to recall in hard times.
1 Cor 10:13
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
He will not give you anything you can not bear.
Hebrews 12:1-3
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

One really good one is "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want." There are alot of good ones in the book of Joshua like "Be strong and of a good courage for the Lord God will deliver thine enemies into thy hands". Also remember that nothing that happens to you on this Earth is permenant. Someday, you will be rescued from whatever nightmare you are living in now. It might come from your circumstances changing for the better and it might not. Even if things don't get better than they seem to be right now, eventually (if you have a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ) you will be with Him in paradise and all the things that trouble you now will be gone. In the meantime, look for the good in your life. One of the best ways to deal with your own problems is to find someone else who is worse off than you are and help that person somehow. It takes your mind off your own problems and it's a blessing to the other person. Who knows, maybe that person you help will be able to help you too, if nothing else, they might pray with you about your problem. When two or more people pray together earnestly seeking His will, God hears it and answers the prayer.

Brother, Stand Firm!!!
Eph 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
Eph 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
Eph 6:13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
Eph 6:15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.
Eph 6:16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one;
Eph 6:17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,
Eph 6:18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,

Joshua Chapter 1 Verse 5
"No one can withstand you while you live. I will be with you as I was with Moses: I will not leave you nor forsake you."
We walk by faith, not by sight.
Bible, 2 Corinthians v. 7.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow; for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Bible, Matthew vi. 34.

Read the story of Job. I doubt there's anything more inspiring in the face of any "worst nightmare." That story saved my life. No kidding.

Lamentations 3 is always a comfort to me in times like this.
It starts out very dark and hopeless but ends with hope and great joy.
It was such a comfort to me during my divorce and when one of my best friends was killed.

It is comforting to know that with God, all trials and tribulations have a divine purpose. We are never alone. He told His disciples that they would be scattered, leaving Him alone, and yet "I am not alone, because the Father is with me. "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. "In the world you have tribulation, but take courage, I have overcome the world." (John 16:32, 33)
"...I will never leave you, nor forsake you; therefore I can boldly say, 'The Lord is my helper; I will not fear what man can do to me" (Hebrews 13:5b,6). Trials develop godly character. "...we exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character, and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us...
Jesus Christ set the perfect example. "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:3-5) These verses point out aspects of His divine purpose for both Jesus Christ's trials and tribulations, and ours. Persevering proves our faith. "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13).
"In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which perishes, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ." The true believer should accept trials and tribulations because "You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for Gods own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light" (1 Peter 1:6, 7, 2:9). "If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you....."if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not feel ashamed, but in that name let him glorify God" (1 Peter 4:14, 16).
At the same time, we must be careful never to make excuses for our "trials and tribulations" if they are a result of our own wrong doing. "By no means let any of you suffer as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a troublesome meddler" (1 Peter 4:15).
Trials and tribulations come with both a purpose and a reward. "Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." "Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him" (James 1:2-4,12).
We have the victory. "But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord, Jesus Christ." I hope that these verses will encourage you to see that although we are in a spiritual battle, Satan has no authority over the believer in Christ, unless he/she chooses to yield to him. God has given us His Word to guide us, His Holy Spirit to enable us, and the privilege of coming to Him anywhere, at any time, to pray about anything! Go for it!
