Why does American women treat their men so poorly?

I was amazed by the way American women treated their men. Disrepectful, mean, treating them like they are idiots. Why do they do this?

American men are thought as good husbands in most of the world. Why does they get treated so bad in there own country?

angel, you are the perfect example of scary American girl. You think I am naive because I'm not a American. You are the naive girl. I bet I have been to more countries then you have.

I was in America for two years. I saw things for myself. And answers in here prove that American women don't treat there men good. So much hating by American women.

What is your question based on? What may be disrespectful to you may not be to another. I don't believe that American women treat their men poorly. I believe women from other countries and cultures who have been raised to treat men a certain way always try and judge or put down American women or any other woman who doesn't do the same. I believe it is just a culture difference.

I find it's the other way around.

When I was 18, I dated a kid who treated me like crap. At the time, I was head over heels for him. I started putting on weight, he would tell me " I liked the size you were when we first started dating."

Another thing was, I couldn't afford to attend a private college. I was so upset by this, I was crying to him one day. He told me that I should just go to state school, but that "it sucks my family was poor and couldn't afford my college education."

He also made comments about my parents marriage, which was on the verge of divorce.

We were 18 years old, Looking back on this. How does an 18 year old college freshman learn to treat a women this way. I'm convinced it learned.

I've seen other men treat their girlfriend's poorly. I've seen women get the **** kicked out of them by men.

I think you are very misinformed. I love my boyfriend (that I have now) He treats me very well.

But, like all men. He's no saint. In America, we try to treat all sexes equally, both men and women.

In other countries, men (regardless of class, education, job/money status) are treated like kings.

You have to realize America is about equality. In a marriage, NO person should be held to a higher position or "greatness" No one's feet should be kissed more then the other sex. Both patners should treat each other equally.

I love my boyfriend. But, he's a big boy. He doesn't need me picking up his dirty undies everyday. I might yell, b/c personally, I don't feel like I should HAVE to pick up his dirty clothes. He's a grown adult, he can do it himself. Plus, I"m his girlfriend NOT his slave.

EDIT- If women from other countries treat their husbands better; then why aren't American men running to other countries to find foreign brides. I don't see too many men w/ foreign brides.

Some women repay men in kind. It comes from the way some women are treated by controlling, cruel men. It's wrong to do so and better to get out of the relationship that has gone bitter.

i'v lived in u.s. for a very long time. all the men did was put down women. one day i had company from europe. these were men. i couldn't believe that they helped out in chores and doing the dishes after you cook. the men here don't feel that we should be catered. if a man did what those guys did the american man would think itwas a gay thing to do. it could be i have not been with the right one yet. give it time. you will understand why women treat men as they do.

I never really understood women here in America. I guess the women are not different from the rest of the country. They are all full of themselves and very spoiled. Much like most Americans are.

Foreign women seem to be more humble and down to earth. American women expect men to give them the world. I guess here in America, we grew up with everything an we tend to expect everything out of our relationships. However, in foreign countries, people do not have as much and are more humble. They seem to like and appreciate good treatment from people.

I just think Americans are just spoiled and full of themselves men and women.

Well it mainly depends on where the women grew up and where they live with their husbands. In my observation, women that seem to always have the latest thing, always never seem to be the happiest. For example, a gal that has a new Benz with the Louis Vuitton $5000 purse and the Yorkshire Terrier yada yada, never seem to be the happiest because they already have EVERYTHING! NOTHING will make them any happier OR they're just too caught up with the MORE COMPLICATED things in life that they do not even value the simpler things like love, companionship, their youth, experiences. Stuff like that. It is a very sad thing. Although, there are an equal amount of men that treat their women badly too. So it's not just the women.

Because men think differently than women, they are programmed different and some women dont understand that, and the women think that if a man doesnt think like them then the man is stupid, wich is rediculous, but alot of us american girls treat our men very well, I do! and he treats me well too

American girls learn early on that the better you treat your man the more he takes advantage. American young women, then learn the more you give them the more that want. Finally American wives learn that people (men) only get push you as far as you let them. So we're finally learning not let them push us at all. The tighter the leash the nicer the husband.

Amen!! I agree we do get treated not very well by our women. I mean not all of them, and some American men are mean and jackasses, so some deserve to be treated that way. maybe that explains why I think Asian, and women from areas like Russia and so on seem to be so much sweeter, and so kind and more loving. I mean there is something about them that I really love. I just want to hold them, tell them I love them and protect them from the things bad in this world. I know I sound crazy and weird, but it is true. Women from Russia, Asia, and parts of the Middle East are so sweet and loving, and beautiful. That's why I think I like them so much more than most American women. =)

Fortunately in America, no one group of people are all alike. Therefore, you cannot observe a small sample of the large pool of relationships in America and use to make broad assessments about all who are in that category of people. Also, I imagine "poor treatment" in one person's eyes can look like something different thru another person's eyes.
