It all started in a house we lived in. I was pregnant, and it came from a corner of the bedroom. It came and went alot. Then, we moved and it followed us, only i am the only one who smells it, but my daughter, once, did too, and now I smell it alot in my daughter's bedroom. behind me. Never around me, always behind. It smells like a sweet , striking- a match- smell. Then it fades to nothing. Help! I never smelt it as a kid, only when I was pregnant with my now, 5 year old.

Evil spirits do exist. In one essay a promoter of witchcraft warns: “The Shadows are out there: They exist, in the invisible world that parallels our own, living creatures. . . . They are very strong. . . . The most intelligent variety . . . are capable (if someone is helpful enough to open a doorway for them) of entering our world. . . . They can enter your body . . . , even asserting a degree of control over you.”

In Bible times, demon possession afflicted people in various ways. Some of those affected were unable to speak, some were blind, some acted insane, and some possessed superhuman strength. (Matthew 9:32; 12:22; 17:15, 18; Mark 5:2-5; Luke 8:29; 9:42; 11:14; Acts 19:16) At times the agony was compounded when many demons gained possession of a person simultaneously. (Luke 8:2, 30)

The practice of spiritism can lead to demon harassment or even possession by wicked spirits. No wonder then, there is good reason why Jehovah the God of the Bible, warns people to stay away from witchcraft and other occult practices. -Deuteronomy 18:14; Galatians 5:19-21

First-century Christians in Ephesus who had practiced spiritism before becoming believers took positive steps. We read that “quite a number of those who practiced magical arts brought their books together and burned them up before everybody.” (Acts 19:19)
Even if you have not practiced spiritism, get rid of anything having spiritistic uses or overtones. This includes books, magazines, videos, posters, musical recordings, and objects used for spiritistic purposes. Also included are idols, amulets and other items worn for protection, and gifts received from practicers of spiritism. -Deuteronomy 7:25, 26; 1 Corinthians 10:21
Another necessary step is to apply the apostle Paul’s counsel to put on the complete suit of God-given spiritual armor. -Ephesians 6:11-17
Study the Bible and apply its counsel in your life. The strength of one’s faith depends largely on the firmness of its base—the knowledge of God. -John 3:16; Proverbs 18:10
