Having problems printing my old excel spreadsheets using latest MS Office suite.

Another problem is that numeric cell content from old version of excel will not print!

Any suggestions or helpful websites I can find solutions?

There could be two different areas that could be the problem:

1.) The old Excel file type

2.) Your printer's compatability

What file format are those spreadsheets saved in? I'd recommend having them saved in a version of Excel 97 or later. Excel 2007 greatly limits and does away with the number of other types of old file formats and other program formats that it will accept. This may be partly for security reasons and to avoid a humongous Excel program that takes up a bunch of storage space and would run slower.

The second problem might have to do with compatability with your printer. You might want to check the website for your printer manufacturer and see if they have any driver updates for your printer. If they do, download the new driver for your printer and see if that helps. There are tons of different types of printers on the market. And any new program that is developed is not going to be compatible with all of them. Printer companies will often make driver updates to accomodate the new programs such as the new version of Microsoft Office. However, if your computer is fairly old, the printer company may figure that it is not worth it to keep creating new driver updates for it and you may just have to get a new printer that is compatible with Windows Vista or at least one of the later versions of Windows like XP.

If all the information is visible on the screen, then it should print.

I would suggest saving all old files in the new .xlsx format first. Then try printing again.

Can you create a new spreadsheet with the same type of information as an old one and get it to print?

This might help identify if the problem is Excel or a Vista issue.

Any other issues printing? Have you updated your printer driver? Is the printer Vista compatible?

you maintain saying "Excel-like application". Is it Microsoft Excel you have been using on residing house windows ninety 8 or some thing else? If it is Microsoft Excel you have been using then particular, extra moderen variations of Excel will open your old data with none problems. If it is a few thing different than Microsoft Excel you have been using then it is 50/50 no count if the extra moderen variations of Excel will open them. in case you ought to use your old spreadsheet application to maintain the data in CSV format (comma separated variables) then you definately could desire to have the potential to open the CSV data in new Excel. yet you will lose all your formatting and graphs.
