If someone asked you how many people you had had sex with, what would you tell them. I'm not asking for numbers.

I was actually asking myself that question, as I have been asked it numerous times and responded to it in various ways. But in order to answer the question accurately, i wanted to know what people were asking. Yet with so many varied perceptions, there is no way to accurately answer that question, except by my own definition. Wanted to hear yours.
It may be an inappropriate or irrelevent question question to ask some one depending on the circumstances, but people ask it none the less, and they have their reasoning in their own mind for asking it, or else they wouldn't be. When faced with a direct question, why not answer with integrity, if you choose to answer it at all?
People will draw conclusions about your character regardless of the number. And their perceptions will always be different depending on a variety of factors, not to exclude their own character and personal experience. Even if you tell them it's none of their buisness. Even if you lie.

What personal knowledge could possibly be gained by a ****ing number? None, unless you choose to elaborate.
As far as why I would choose to answer such a question? Because they asked.
And yes, I posted the question twice, to broaden the spectrum of response. I chose two. I would have posted it in all categories, but that's a little excess.
And yes that's my avitar. I wanted to put a face to the name. People see me everyday so I see no threat in posting a picture. I'ts a picture, like a number. Why lie?

if it has sex in the title, such as oral sex, I consider it sex.

to some of you answering this question:

Why is everyone so embarrassed to say how many people they've had sexual relations with?

If you are too ashamed to admit to it, then maybe you shouldn't be doing it...

I've probably been with about 25 differnet women.
- and no I don't have any std's either.
am I bragging, hell no. just being honest. -and I do
know some people that have slept with 4-5times more than me.

anyway back to your question,

I would count any person that either you tried to give an orgasm to, or any person that tried to give one to you.
(that's a pretty fair system, but if you really have to think hard
if someone should be counted or not, then usually they should be counted too)

as far as why someone would ask such a question?
you would think the answer to be obvious - most people don't wanna get serious with the town wh-re (male or female).

Why would anybody ask such an inappropriate question in the first place? Sex is a personal and private thing, not a trophy banner or a belt with notches in it. Unless you're 14, that is--in age or mentality.

Why would you even consider answering such a question?

Ask them, why they would want to know? If you don't like the person or don't feel comfortable you can bluntly tell them that it isn't any of their business. If you are comfortable with the person asking, then by all means give them an actual number...

yes im a light weight luckily - i would never ask someone elses numbers i dont need to know all that - whats the point -? as long as its not more during our break up than it was when we started doing it - i dont care -

i forgot the other part -
i consider sex - penetration -
- but i do have a different number for sucking and fuhking - and i do consider that to be more intamint than sex itself

Sex is full penetration and if you don't want to tell someone how many you don't have to

What has happened between you and people in your past is your business

your partner should love you for you not because of how many people you have slept with

That that is private, in the past and why on earth would they ask. If a new relationship I'd say the same but add, if your concerned we can share bloodtest results.

You have a right to know. Kinda like buying a used car. You want a history.

I'm a guy.. I didn't kiss and tell in my youth. I told them. No I didn't.. It wasn't about bragging for me.
Sex is anything physical between two people(hopefully). I'm not talking kissing or petting, but to climax.

I would tell them the truth, everyone lies so he'll think its a lie since the number is so high.
