The basic answer to this is that sexual contact that is not within marriage and used for procreation is a sin.
I was raised Lutheran and different denominations of Christianity teach things a little differently, but from our perspective, that's how it's taught.
This all boils down to safety, though. In the time in which the Bible was written, there were no contraceptives, no medical ways to prevent or even really treat STDs, etc. And they were in a world and time in which women DID NOT hold money-making positions, so a single mother couldn't get by. Thus why non-marital sex is a "sin". As for anal sex, it doesn't make babies. Having children is important in a civilization where the projected lifespan is short, drought and famine and plague are real threats, and there is little to no medical expertise to keep you alive if you get sick or injured in warfare.
Therefore, anal sex had no purpose but pleasure, and too much pleasure or lust for pleasure often leads to more violent, dangerous sins, so it got on the "no-no" list.
When looking at anything related to the Bible, you just have to look at it from the perspective of the people who wrote it and the world that they lived in.
If you can't tell, I'm not Christian anymore, but I AM a History major.

Some Christians believe that sex should occur for procreation purposes only ... or if you have sex for pleasure, you should at least not do anything that could prevent conception. Conception can not occur from anal sex. This is why some Christians, especially Catholics, don't believe in using birth control. Genesis 38:9-10 describes a situation in which God "slew" a man for using the "pull-out" method.

If sex were only about procreation, all we would have to do would be, oh,say shake hands!
We were given the ability to have sexual intercourse because it feels good! It is pleasurable, and there is nothing wrong with that!
Why does everyone have to make it dirty, when it is not! It is a God given gift, and for those of us who do not believe in God, then it is a gift from Mother Nature!
Please stop turning something that is so wonderful, and so beautiful, into something that is wrong. or unnatural!
As far as anal, or any other position for sexual interaction, it should be up to the individuals involved . and not based on someone else's sense of what is right or wrong!
The only sexual act, that is wrong, is one that involves a child!

Not a christian myself, but i do believe it doesn't allow sodomy.....anyways you figure since god is all knowing, he knows about diseases and infections. Anal sex has a lot of potential for that.
I mean if you ever saw that sex show on oxygen......yeah that lady is even against it and she's allll about sex. Yeah, your butt wasn't meant to be penetrated....no real defenses against that. We keep doing that though andevolution will take care of it and it probably won't be a sin if another prophet comes in a few thousand years.

Anal sex is a sin because it is unnatural sexual activity. Some will say because it relates to homosexuality. I cannot really say if anal sex between a husband and wife is a sin, it certainly is sin within homosexuality and sin outside of marriage, but then again so is all sexual activity within these two scenarios. The word of God never really gives us a guideline for this if it is done between a man and woman in marriage. I personally do not agree with it, so I do not do it. God bless.

Actually the Bible is silent about this. There is the scripture about Sodom and Gomorah but that was involving homosexuality. However, the Bible says nothing about anal or oral sex between married heterosexual christians. However, whatever is not done in faith is sin. So some married christians would have a conscious that allows them to do that and others would feel weird about it and not do it. It falls under the category of a debateable item.

Petunia, I have as close to the original Hebrew as you can get. I am of the seed of Abraham, mixed with Cherokee.
My family came here in 1801 from England and the rest is history. The Bible does not okay this. This is only discussed in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. And it is being condemned.
Okay I try to stay away from these questions but obviously someone needs this answer.
There are tiny capillaries located all around the anus. When the motion and pressure from anal sex is being administered it is a documented fact that the bodies of both male and female are more prone to disease.
Tests done among married people show no signs or increase of venereal disease when they are faithful to one another, but there is an increase of yeast infection in both men and women, i/e. husbands and wives.
Homosexuals however, and heterosexuals have a high percentage of overall disease from this practice because these tiny blood vessels break, sometimes only microscopically and transfer germs, virus, bacteria, fungi, etc. that cause serious diseases.
I have done extensive study in this area with a professional M.D. because of a ministry my wife and I are in.
We also are personal friends with a Doctor and her family and are at liberty to discuss these matters in detail.
You are taking a very dangerous risk with your life or overall health by not finding alternative ways to please your partner.

The anal sex they are talking about was part of the practice of pederasty----raping young male slaves so they would be submissive. Christians just translated it to mean what they want, but if they actually read the original Hebrew that the bible was written in, they would probably understand.

properly, the Bible would not say something approximately it, in spite of the undeniable fact that it does say in Hebrews 13:4 that " Marriage is honorable in all and the mattress undefiled: yet fornicators and adulterers God will decide". despite is finished in a marriage mattress between guy and spouse ( is rather of direction--we are able to thoroughly assume that bondage or as you reported, anal intercourse, isn't portion of the equation as that's sodomy) is actual permissible. So there is no problem i do no longer think of with oral intercourse between guy and spouse--yet remember, you have have been given to be married, that's the main to the full difficulty. God bless

I don't know. The bible clearly says that homosexual sex is a sin. The bible also says that the marriage bed cannot be defiled. So it would seem that whatever a husband and wife do in the privacy of their own bedroom is acceptable to God.
