Hunting is a fall and winter sport. It is so because by that time of the year most young animals are weened and more capable of being on their own. So if a fawn's mother is harvested by a hunter, it will stand a better chance of survival now that is no longer relying so heavily on its mommy.
Another reason is that the ruts of many animals if not all are going on. A rut is when animals come in heat and want to mate. So it is a better time to hunt animals because often times they are more easily distracted with the though of baby making. Plus many game animals are more susceptible to calling, or luring them in by the opposite sex's mating calls.

Most hunting seasons start in the fall and continue through the winter - typically about September 1st through January 31st depending on what part of the country you're in.

There are only a couple of things you can hunt year round, and most people don't hunt those.

That's why it's considered a winter sport.

i do no longer understand the place you reside, or the deer inhabitants around you, yet taking pictures won't skinny the herd. as we talk of 12 months while deer are drawing near the rut, using in rural components could be dangerous on your well being by way of deer inhabitants working returned and forth around the line. almost all and sundry in our kinfolk has killed a deer with a vehicle. My daughter even had a wild turkey crash in the process the windshield and finally end up interior the passenger seat. She did no longer take a photograph of a wild turkey, however the coverage adjuster took a photograph of the turkey and the busted windshield. A clean shot and humane kill is lots extra useful than seeing a deer run off into the sphere with a leg dangling helplessly at the back of him, or the turkey pulverized via a tumbler windshield. Hunters are extra advantageous than killers of untamed animals. they're devoted to conservation of land and maintenance of a doable herd of healthful animals. If hunters weren't a mandatory element of the administration of untamed animals, might your place state spend hundreds of hundreds of greenbacks on fishing and organic international? in case you somewhat love animals, and that i've got self belief you do, you may desire to understand hunters, besides. As you pronounced, God Bless.

1) like everyone else has said, babies are born in spring, so they are weaned by now
2) animals are fattened up from summer and autumn eating
3) animals coats are thicker and fuller
as a couple extra bonuses there are less bugs out,and I believe less ticks and what not on animals. and I don't know if this is true or not, but when I was younger my grandpa and dad always told me that animals had worms in them during the summer and you had to wait for the first good frost before they were good to hunt. now that I think about it it seems kinda foolish, but thats what I heard.
