We have $1000, thats it...when u go on a cruise, how much are the foods and drinks and activities to do there?? Are they high in price? Someone told me that if you book a cruise, thats the price and all the meals ad drinks are free...is that even true??

Where is the best place to take a cruise to, like with good sights and everything? We want something ROMANTIC! =]

First, your food is included, except for specialty dining, and a few places where they might sell ice cream by the scoop or cake by the slice. Your beverages, however, are not. You'll get coffee, tea, and water free, and usually juice and lemonade during breakfast and lunch, but everything from soda to alcohol is a charge item. It will probably run you about $3.50 for soda per bottle, and $5.00 and up for alcohol.

With your budget, you're going to be restricted to a shorter cruise unless you live near a port city, or you'll need to add air travel costs. That eats up a good chunk of your budget.

I usually use vacationstogo.com to get idea about prices, but at skyauction.com you can bid on specific cruises. That might be a good spot to start if you're ready to find something and buy it for a bargain price. My parents do that all the time; they love cruising and want to escape the Las Vegas heat in the summer, so they bid on various cruises. If they win, they have a bargain, if not, they look for another one.

For a cruising region, I love the Caribbean more than anyplace else. However, when I want something cheaper, I book the Mexican Riveria. I know people who have gotten good rates to the Bahamas for honeymoons and loved it. Again, if you're on a budget, and live near a seaport, look there first.

With your budget, I would look for a 4 day cruise if you want to buy outright, and a 7 day cruise if you're willing to play the auction game (but be sure to look up hidden fees). I'd try to keep the cost of the ship and transport to it at about $700 total. That leaves you with $300 for drinks, photos, and a little shopping.

Try to book the price of a lower deck inside cabin - they are the cheapest. Sometimes you get surprised though; while I always want the bottom price, I always tell the travel agent anyplace is fine. Once I was shocked with a very strange cabin that wrapped around an emergency staircase which was outside with two portholes. I loved it! The cabin isn't all that important as long as it can be set up as a double bed. You'll get the same food, entertainment, and ports as every other cabin, and can still kiss in the moonlight on deck all you want.

For romanticism, tell your booking agent you are going on your honeymoon and ask it to be passed to the line. Ask to be given a very small table (for two) or a very large table for dining (my second cruise I was placed at a table for six with three women who didn't speak English and a honeymooning couple who only had eyes for each other - fortunately I was reseated).

Good luck, and happy honeymooning

If your budget is only $1,000 your best bet is a 2, 3, or 4 day cruise to the Bahamas.

http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/search/vacationSearchResult.do;jsessionid=0000pZ8VBMYMl_SkwIZ2aU8FRAZ:12hbioan0?promoType=&cruiseTourOnly=false&dest=BAHAM&duration=ANY&date=ANY&port=ANY&ship=ANY&selectedCurrencyCode=USD&price=0&x=73&y=6

You can get a cabin for under $500 each and then have a few dollars to spend. But you will need to be aware that there will be additional fees and charges once you are on the ship. All food is included unless you go to a specialty restaurant. But the other charges will be:
for Gratuities about $10.00 a day per person;
for alcoholic drinks that you must pay for (coffee,tea, juice, milk and punch are free);
for any tours you take;
for any photos taken by the ship that your decide to buy.

So your budget will be stretched to the max. You can do it but you will be cutting it close.

I start my research at vacationstogo.com. I can get an idea of where I want to go, length of cruise, and prices.

Online sometimes best recource finding lowest great cruise discounts because competition bring ptrices more down,

so my advice don't just look at the prices ONLINE also call them
Agents can not publish discount price rates online or newspaper ads so they advertise cruise lines website published rates.

I recommend visit websites like http://www.cruise-reviews.com, cruisecritic.com or cruisemates.com find cruise bargains page and call this agents. Look for specials that fit in your budget.

Cruises are all inclusive vacations, include your meals, and soft drinks not include tips for service in dining room and cabin steward, This people work for tip so the room service please dont forget to tip them.

http://www.cruise-reviews.com/discount-cruises another good spot that you can find great deals

Cruises when start or finish in USA can be cheaper than international cruise rates, Such as in Southern Caribbean cruise flying Puerto Rica it will be extra coast to you than flying Florida Miami --- (http://www.cruise-reviews.com/news/detail-1639.asp)
