Choose "clean installation" as in wipe out Windows XP home and reformat the hard drive.. Just insert the disk and go through the wizard and it will give you the option of upgrading versus a clean installation..

it depends if the newer version is an OEM or not, if it's serial number starts with OEM then no it won't upgrade and can not be added as a second OS, you would have to reformat the HD to install it, but if it is a full version it will give you the option to upgrade or install as a clean copy, creating a dual boot machine.

i would prefer to delete the first OS and then insatall the pro version......if u have necessary files then back up them in a place and then install the pro.....upgrading may harm ur pc.............or if u have a good requirement, then u can onstall two OS....but don't forget to insatall them in different drives!!!!

yea, you'll need to delete it unless you can run multiple os's on your pc. when you start to install the windows xp pro, it will ask if you want to partition the drive, say yes, and continue as normal
