When your lamp burns out stick the burnt out bulb inside the microwave. It will turn all sorts of beautiful colors. Just don't let the metal touch the sides.

You can put anything you want to on top or around microwaves. The magnetron emits microwaves into only the cooking area. All microwaves are shielded. So, unless you like to cook food with the door open ;), the answer is yes.

its ok as long as you will not use the microwave while the lamp is inside the microwave. The lamp bulb has a gas inside usually noble gas which expands as heat is present

Nothing on a microwave is best. Tends to burn them out with things on them, especially the cheap ones.
