hi, no, i don't think it would be cancer because cancers are normally painless...you claim there's pain and secondly, if it's not in your breast but rather under your armpit, it may just be blocked lymphatics that drain the chest wall...sort of like the body's natural sewage system, it detoxifies lymph, which is a combination of cells and serum...
however, looking for signs of breast cancer...you should do a monthly self exam after your period is over...feel for irregular nodularities, any pain, any emission of blood or pus, even milk if you are not nursing...and tell your dr about it immediately if you spot anything like this! don't be scared, screening is always a first step to recognizing what can happen! we've come miles in diagnostic advancements so there's no need to let something go missed and untreated! if you have a family history of breast cancer, if you are smoker, if you have had an early menarche ie, the age of your 1st period and/or late menopause, if you have been on the birth control pill or if you have not had children, your risk factors for developing cancer are higher...
i hope this helps you!

Forget about the shower test. If you already feel a lump, have it checked out by a doctor.
Better safe than sorry.
Sometimes, depending on the position you are in - standing, sitting, for example, you can push the lump back & not feel it. So, if you already felt it, then get to a doctor.
Hey, even us guys can get BC, so if I felt a lump, I'd go immediately.
Just not to a gyno.
Good luck & good health.

breast cancer does not form under the armpit. It forms under the breast near the lymphatic system. pain is also not an attribute of cancer. if you feel pain in the armpit, it might be just a sore armpit, but you should check to make sure.

I would definately get this checked out. If it isn't breast cancer it might be something else. Better safe than sorrry. I found a link that describes the stages of breast cancer.

Yes it could be. Don't believe anyone who says cancer doesn't have pain. That is a myth. Mine had pain. It is most likely NOT cancer, but why would you wait to find that out? Go see a doctor immediately. ANY change can be cancer. Please ignor all the rules and myths! Two myths caused me to delay getting my invasive cancer diagnosed. Do NOT wait.

Breast cancer is not a likely diagnosis, as it is usually painless.
Mine was very tender, and was found to be an atypical cancer.
If you have doubts, get it checked. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Go in the shower and lift your arm up and see if you still have the bump under your arm, if its near your period you will have more lumps than normal but do the shower test if you arent near your period

Those were my symptoms and I was diagnosed with an early stage of BC. And I'm fine now! Don't worry - just have a surgeon look at it.
