Why did God create us? The answer that the bible seems to provide is: for His pleasure (Revelation 4:11) (Colossians 1:16).

According to Matthew's Gospel, the very essence of the Law and the Prophets is to love God and to love others (Matthew 7:12)

So many of us use the freedom of choice that He knew, being the omnipotent being He is (Matthew 19:26), would lead us to choose a path that excluded Him. He knows and says that many of us will go to Hell and few will make it to Heaven (Matt.7:13-14) . How can I love someone that says He Loves me, but has chosen not to allow me to live forever with Him in Heaven, but has created an environment where I can possibly go to hell?

If this ‘Love’ is the sentiment He wants me to reciprocate, It certainly will not be with the fondness or ‘Love’ I have felt for my fellow human beings, but with anger and resentment that he has made me and placed me here to struggle and suffer through life for His pleasure.

I would like to clarify a few things to save people the time of writing meaningless answers.

Im not at all depressed, and I find a great deal of joy in my life. However there also has been, and no doubt will be more, suffering.

“How can I love someone that says He Loves me, but has chosen not to allow me to live forever with Him in Heaven, but has created an environment where I can possibly go to hell?” To further explain this: Im not 100% sure of this, and if anyone knows the answer, I would love to hear it. I think that at the moment of our conception, God creates are soul to go with our physical body. What I don’t understand, is why God doesn’t just bypass the suffering and create our soul with him in heaven where of course there is only joy?

According to Genesis, God banished Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden BECAUSE he wanted us to be redeemed. The Earth was originally to be a place where Man and God could have perfect relationship.

Here's an analogy: You would agree that the more important the person you offend, the larger the consequence is, right?

Well imagine offending an infinitely and powerful God. The penalty should be infinite punishment, should it not? However, God loved us so much that he did not carry out this punishment. He gave us this concept called "time" to redeem us so that we may go to Heaven to be eternally with him. Jesus Christ died on the cross for us, so that we would be blameless before God.

God has made an environment where you will be redeemed, if you believe in Jesus Christ. The reason why we aren't in Heaven or in the Garden of Eden anymore is because we HAVE sinned against him. How can we hope to spend eternity with God in Heaven if we are still sinners? God cannot stand sin, or even be in its presence. We must be blameless before the Lord, and that is only possible through Jesus Christ.

Hell is a just punishment for sin, because sin is the ultimate penalty for offending an infinitely great God.

The God that made the Earth, or this planet our home, is the same God that loves us. Man kind is the one destroying the earth. God is making a new heaven & new Earth ,he is restoring the original Paradise where we will gladly be with God. Some call it "heaven" ,but there we do not have to worry about wickedness. As for now we just worship him & try our best to be in the world without being part of thier uglyness. Like for me I try to help nature when I can by recycling when possible or supporting those whom try to help our enviroment.

If you are going to worry about putting your life in the perspective of the bible and all it says, you will become a delusional mess. First of all, what most people do not do with all that is written is find out "who" wrote that which is written and "discern" their character and their "wisdom." The Lord in heaven is not the instiller of "fear" nor giver of a nature unbecoming of his holy stature. Much of what you read is given by man for "mankind" and full of his prejudices. The Lord in heaven condemns no one and said so through his Son. Those who "are" condemned, is because they are evil beyond behavioral repair and won't change. These are the kind who are inhumane and care little for the lives of others much less their own. Religions always put words in the mouth of the Lord, but you have to remember the devil always wanted his position to speak in his behalf. Mankind does no different.

Dear, please remember that to live is a blessing because the other alternative is death. Living another day provides you the opportunity to do right what was not done right before, especially if one is not saved. Don't think that life on earth is so much of a bad thing that death is better, that is never what the Bible will speak but, if you are on this earth after the rapture, that is one of the worst things that could take place in life.

There seems to be an unusually large number of God-blamers here tonight. The bottom line is that Jesus set you free. He suffered an unimaginable death to save your butt. All God is asking you to do is accept that sacrifice. Why is that so hard for you?

I love God for saving me when He could just as easily have forsaken me. Stop being so angry and change your perspective. Your eternal life is at stake.

I would say that you are very confused about the likely meaning of "for his pleasure". It is not like you and I doing things for our pleasure. This statement means because God loves us...and therefore feels pleasure at our existance. As to him knowing that many of us will turn away from him....yes...that is true...but He does not make that choice...we do. Allowing things to occur does not mean that he causes them to occur.

Sounds to me as if your life is pretty miserable...and that is all a matter of attitude. With God as the center of our life, nothing is miserable....but merely a mild inconveinence....or a temporary hindrance to our purpose. I am and will always be victorious...because God walks beside me. Pie in the sky attitude? Maybe...but it works.

The world is a sifter or a sieve to separate the faithful from the unfaithful. God wants people to live for Him, not for themselves. To those people, he grants eternal life. BTW He created you, you know? Seems only fair that HE should call the shots.

Life is a gift. Treasure both it and the Giver of it.

freedom of choice is an essential part of a relationship with the Almighty... God does not force anyone to stay with him in Heaven against their will... the earth is a neutral place, where humans, demons, and angels can all reside... God has removed Himself enough to give us the freedom to explore and make the decision for ourselves whether or not we want to be with Him...
