The saying, "God created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve," is a way of trying to justifying the fact that most Christians are homophobics.

Do you agree or not?

To Mooney: Yes, I have seen people "afraid" of gays. Of course, the way I see it, Christians are somewhat homophobic because they label "being gay" is a sin.

I don't label all Christians as homophobics, there are those who do have an open mind to accept the fact that gays exist.

no, its a stupid phrase that some smart-*** thought was funny to use CHRISTIANITY to enforce their own homophobia...

I think the person who originally said that meant it in a joking way.

I also don't think that most Christan's are homophobes, its just that when someone is it stands out more than if one isn't (if that makes sense)

I think Christan's get caught up in little details like this that don't really matter because the reality of Christianity is too much work for them. It is easier to look down on somebody else (which is totally against what Christan ideology is about) than put themselves out there, improve themselves and help others.

Mankind will always justify it's prejudices with one reason or another on matters it has little understanding "of." If any religious person would bother to examine many of their moral standards, they would find them hypocritical stances for many of the moral issues at present were not those of the past. Homosexuality believe it or not was an "accepted" part of human behaviors in pass civilizations and even "rulers" of certain civilized societies were "gay" or "bi-sexual," just as "incest" was an accepted behavior even amongst the "religious." Some religions even "encouraged" such behaviors to enlighten racial "purity." Alot of these present day "opinions" and "prejudices" are unfounded for they have no leg to stand on in "history" or "holy words."

I don't think that phrase means that most Christians are homophobic. Certainly there are some who are homophobic, but I'm not at all sure that it's most Christians. I don't know what the numbers are. I'd say there are Christians who accept homosexuals and Christians who do not. Some of those who do not accept homosexuals are not driven by fear but driven by their interpretation of the Bible. Clearly the Bible says its a sin for man to lay with man. It also says its a sin for man to lay with woman out of wedlock. And its sin for man or woman to lay with someone who is married and who is not their spouse. It's also a sin to be a glutton, to be greedy, to be unloving, etc.

I guess some of the people overlook their unloving behavior and ignore it's sinfulness when they decide to attack homosexuals. They are wrong for doing this, but they are sinful people and need to be forgiven for their sin, just like homosexuals need to be forgiven for their sin. Or I need to be forgiven for whatever sin I do.

That's a pretty bold statement you made. I don't know any homophobic Christians. I do know a lot of them who don't want to see anyone suffer in hell for their sins. So while there's still time they'll do whatever they can to convince people to turn from their sinful ways and accept Jesus' sacrificial death as the only way to heaven. That includes homosexuals.

I don't even believe that "homophobic" is a legit term. Just because I think homosexuality is wrong doesn't mean I'm afraid of someone who is. People are so quick to throw that word on someone just to try to make them feel bad about their opinions.

I don't agree with what you said, The Bible speaks against this. It is not that I am homophobic, because I love everyone equally but, I do believe even before becoming saved that this is a sin and the Bible only comfirmed this once I became saved.

I don't agree with the word "homophomics". Be honest, have you ever seen anyone afraid of a gay person?

Homophobia...come on.
No one's afraid of it, we just recognize it to be against the word from God, same as any other sin.
We don't need to justify the word God spoke with some cutesy little phrase. His word is enough.
As for me personally, I never really cared to hear that phrase. It sounds stupid to me. I know the point behind it, but it flat out sounds ... stupid.

gay people are people just like us and are to be treated like any other. the problem is not that christians are homophobic. Its that being a homosexual is a sin. Does God hate them? No God loves them equally its the sin God hates...and as a christian we should hate sin also...not the person...
