Where are the men who actually want to have a committed relationship, and not just this "friends with benefits" CR**? The last guy I was "seeing" just wanted "to hang out". So I did just that, and now he's with someone else, just "hanging out". Then he says, "I told you I didn't want to date you". What a load of cr**! He said he didn't want to date anyone, that he wasn't ready, but we could talk and hang out. ????

im a guy and take it from me..you better off without that loser anyway..
he was too much of a coward to admit that he wasnt really that into you in the first place..all he did was try keep his options open.

Hang in there..be smart and take control of the situation before you find yourself in such a position again..a real man will see your strength.

Our society has been good at turning them into women, sadly.

Men *do* want a committed relationship. However, they want one with a great person that they are truly compatible with for the long-term, which is rare. That's why most men are willing to enjoy sex in the short-term, while they look for the perfect woman for them.

Don't pressure them so much. Dating is a process of learning more about other people, and sharing aspects of yourself with them, so you can both make an intelligent choice about what is best for *both* of your futures. That takes time, so (ideally) you won't have the commitment conversation until you have been dating exclusively for at least a month, and maybe closer to 2 or 3.

Hope this helps.

What a concept, friends with benefits. Who does it benefit? It sounds like a concept the boys in the locker-room came up with. Yes, I'm a father of a daughter. The guy gets what he wants and the girl get left holding the bag. She is the one risking getting pregnant. Guys don't realize they are harming themselves and every girl he has indiscriminate sex. They loose respect for women, and the women loose respect for themselves and for men. You see many lives destroyed or damaged. Many use drugs or alcohol to ease their pain. Sex is not a game; it is an intimate act that is to bond two people together and create life. God bless.

There's a problem. I'm not going to date you just because you are looking for a lasting relationship. I want to date you to get to know you in every moment possible. Often, there are personalities that conflict with another. If I was to suddenly jump into your life without you knowing that I like a Budweiser or six after a hard day's work, would you accept that?

I have no problem being a man. But I must say women now a days have brought this nonsense on themselves. They have given in to men and have made themselves cheap in the process. Before I guy gets what he wants you need to make him commit, don't sell yourself short. Look at how easily the media demeans a woman like Britney Spears when she acts loose, but her husband gets away with being a sleaze, double standards, maybe. But it's up to the women to change the way we perceive them, by not putting up with the BS. You really make the rules and have the power if you use it right.

I think it is in large part due to the internet. Sex is so available now with a click click - hook up. All the porn and barely legal naked women fuels the fire and they want more sex than ever. Men used to have to marry to have consistent sex (and when they did it often turned out not so consistent), or pay for it. Now it's just another item on the menu.

That's an interesting observation on your part. Could it be the influence of TV, movies? Or maybe the guys he hangs out with? He didn't understand the word honesty. Consider yourself lucky and you learned from the experience.

he sounds gay.. guys don't just "hang out" with girls, and friends with benefits is just STUPID.. for any girl that does it, she's just lowering herself to the level of some horn-dog man.. so think of it this way.. ur better off alone, waiting until the right guy comes along, then even given a hint of a chance to jerks like that.. and there are alot of them..

I'm almost certain that if women would stop having sex so easily that men would be more willing to commit to serious relationships. It is in a man's nature to take the path of least resistance.

To compare all men based on a small sample of men that you encounter seems a bit harsh. I would question you on where you are meeting these men and how you allow them to treat you before acquiring feelings that may hurt you.
