You will find that once you enjoy one race, you will want to go to more. The sights, the sounds, and the smells of fuel and rubber become part of you, and you yearn for the next race you can go to see.
Don't ever let anyone tell you it's not a sport. It is because the drivers and the pit crews have to be in top physical shape to do their jobs successfully. The drivers have to have the stamina to race in a very hot car--up to 140 degrees in temperature--for 300 to 600 miles, depending on the race. They have to stay on top of their awareness, to keep their instincts and reaction times intact. The pit crews have to do their jobs as quickly as they can while making the fewest mistakes possible.
It is a wonderful sport, and the more you watch, the more knowledgable you become. If you enjoyed your first race, you are already a diehard NASCAR fan.
Welcome, and enjoy!

Welcome aboard. You picked the right time to become a NASCAR fan because the "post season" starts this coming weekend. The chase for the Nextel Cups is awesome and every lap of every race then has you on the edge of your seat. Pick a driver to follow during the chase and have fun.

Glad you had a blast! I haven't made it out to Cali yet to check out the race their, but I've managed to make it to Texas, Kansas, and Talladega a few times. The fan support is amazing when you see it in person, and during the race.. It's just like a huge party in the grandstands. We even had Mardi Gras beads!

Thanks for joining us! We might argue over who the best driver out there is, but when it comes down to it we all love NASCAR and each other. My favorite is Carl Edwards, and Jeff Gordon is my least favorite, but I'd still give a Gordon fan a ride to the race if his car broke down so he could see it when Carl passes him !

I went to my first race 7 years ago and was immediately hooked. So, I know exactly what you mean. It's a rush like nothing else.

Welcome to the greatest sport on the planet. I am so glad to have you with us as a fan. The loyalty goes much further than the driver...hardcore fans drive their purchases according to their drivirs sponsors. Example....a true Tony Stewart fan would never shop at Lowes. Welcome
