I am so petrified of going to school tomorrow. There's so many classes and books to read. I can tell myself not to be scared but my body won't listen. What can I do?

Close your eyes for a few seconds and take a deep breath the moment you leave your home. (Don't hyperventilate by breathe excessively hard and fast!)

Are you driving to school? Or is someone taking you? Or you are taking the bus. If you're driving yourself to school, get there early, and try to take a few minutes to be by yourself.

Keep in mind you're not the only one feeling this way. So many other students feel the same way!!

Worked for me when I went to a job interview, or when I start the job on the first day.

It helps if you're ready tomorrow morning. Set out what you want to wear, and all the books you have to bring. Bring extra pens / pencils, too. Bring extra money for lunch, etc. Bring chewing gum (if that's allowed in calss?) or some candy.

Smile a lot! You will make new friends in no time.

Is this your first year, out of grade school? At first it does seem like a lot of classes, and books to read. But if you go through the motions, list your classes on a note pad, and "Walk the walk". Go to each class, take out the book for that class. Soon it will seem like second nature to you. And you are not alone, everyone else is in the same boat. It will get easier, I promise.

There actually is a sickness called school phobia, and also you could be having panic attacks which are no joke there very scary you should talk to your doctor about how you feel and don't be ashamed there are millions of people with the same problem . get the medication and start living your life . school can be overwhelming sometimes but just do your best and don't try to hard you can only do what you are made to do.

See panic attacks, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on page 8. Just break things down into small, easily accomplished tasks; considering one thing a time, with first things tackled first, rather than viewing it in its totality, which can be quite daunting. Approach others, and ask sensible questions (toilets, food, books, transport, sports, and clubs/associations available) thereby finding out what they are like, and evaluating potential friends, who will help you through these initial difficulties. You'll be fine!

Relax, take a hot bath, eat your favorite food, go to sleep and reassure yourself not to be scared tomorrow coz tomorrow never comes. When you wake up the following morning it's today already not tomorrow, it's another day.

I find I have to convince my body that it's ok by retraining my mind. Instead of thinking of your entire day, just think of the next thing to do. For instance, focus on getting up and getting ready. Stay in that moment. Just do the next right thing...and breathe.

if you need something to calm yourself throughout the day, say something like "all my needs are met" over and over again. or "I'm ok" ... or something else that brings you comfort. Good luck!

yes, indeed nerves can make you sick. Eat a good breakfast, and buck up hon...tell yourself that it is foolish to be scared and that everyone else is probably feeling the same way you are...then just try to relax, as one friend here advised..and do your best..the day will be over quickly and it will be business as usual

Prayer. There is always an oppurtunity in everything. BUt I just pray and let the spirit lead me. Let God work it out. Turn your stress and anxiety over to him. Let Him deal with it

Relax. Tomorrow will come soon enough and you'll see things are not as bad as you thought they would be.
