"And having said this, Jesus smote his face with both his hands, and then smote the ground with his head. And having raised his head, he said: "Cursed be every one who shall insert into my sayings that I am the son of God" (53:6) (Barnabas Gospel)

There were 34 Gospels.............. 4 were chosen and 30 were burned.

Those who chose them wanted to substitute Christianity for the Pagan Roman religion of Mithraism.

Then let us see what the Bible says:

In all the following verses of the Holy Bible, Jesus calls or refers himself or is referred to as a PROPHET:-

Luke 13:33; Mark 6:4; Matthew 21:11 and 21:46; Luke 7:16: John 9:17 and one more: "And they say to him concerning Jesus of Nazareth who was a PROPHET of God (Luke 24:19) All four Gospels of the Bible have been quoted.

Let us know the Bible even more. Jesus has also been referred to as a SERVANT OF GOD. See Acts 3:13, Acts 3:26; Acts 4:27

A certain Michael H. Hart, described as a historian, mathematician and astronomer in his book "The 100" published in the U.S. believed that there were co-founders of Christianity, Jesus and Paul.

Out of the total of 27 books of the New Testament more than half is authored by Paul; this is despite the prior warning from Jesus. See John 14:15 and Matthew 519.

The use of gnostic gospels and any other holy book given by "angels" (ie Book of Mormon and Quran) is condemned by Paul with a double-anathema in Galatians 1:8-9.

Example:
In the gospel of Thomas is found the following perversion of a Messianic prophecy from Psalm 118

From the gospel of Thomas - http://www.gnosis.org/naghamm/gthlamb.html
(66) Jesus said, "Show me the stone which the builders have rejected. That one is the cornerstone."

In all three true gospels, Jesus is quoting directly from the scriptures in Mt 21:42, Mr 12:10, Lu 20:17. Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, identified who this was “[ Jesus Christ of Nazareth] is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’
Paul in Ephesians identifies the stone that the builders rejected..."having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone."

So if Jesus was quoting from the Tonakh, which has been proven to be accurate and unchanged, then how could Constantine have changed the text in the true gospels to mean something else? Looks like the real distorted text is the gnostic Thomas gospel.

Precisely why the Gospel of Barnabas was not accepted into the cannon of Biblical texts. Barnabas is one of many Gnostic and other false gospels which were produced during the time of the early church.

All books of faith are written with the hand of man. Did not even the prophet use people or himself to write down his Suras? And have not humans added to the Qu'ran with the Hadith? Even so, is there one passage in the Qu'ran or Hadith that guarantees salvation outside of dying for Jihad? Is there one passage in the Qu'ran or Hadith that tells of a universal love of God for those in dar Habr as well as those in dar Salam?

There is in the book of John and the theme is throughout all of the Holy Scriptures of the Tanakh and New Testament.

The gospel of Barnabas could not have been written by Barnabas because it was written much later than Barnabas lived, as with all the gnostic gospels. The earliest one is the gospel of Mary, which was written about 150, compared to the four gospels which were all written before 100 and most of them before 60. So those fake gospels were not rejected because of their content, they were rejected because they were not accurate descriptions of what took place in Jesus's life, they were written by people who lived hundreds of years after Jesus, while the four gospels are written early and have eye witness testimony. The Quran also should not be believed over the four gospels about Jesus's life and who He is because it is written even later than the gnostic gospels. God bless.

There are so many books out there that were not put into the bible that it is hard to know what to believe. But I have read that one a little, and it seems to want to say Jesus wasn't crucified & that kinda turned me off....but it is rather bothering me about the part where he cant make it into heaven because man has called him God. I still believe he is the son of God and I stopped straying and reading other books. I read just the Bible now.

The gospel of Barnabas, just another made up story to make money off of, For the love of money is the root of all evil, christian books a poping up everywhere now say something different about Jesus, All about the money, The fact of the matter is Jesus Christ came to earth to be a sacrifice for my sins and yours. He died on an old rugged cross, shed his blood to save ours, then rose from the grave the third day to forever open the door to salvation to all who will call upon his name. Jesus Christ is the true Messiah that takes away the sins of the world, Look at USA, the most blessed nation on earth, most moslim countries considered third world countries because of famine and poverty, serving Christ brings blessings, being a slave to islam brings death, Wouldn't you like to be saved right now, have all your sins washed away and start afresh and new, with Christ it can be done, he forgives, he is merciful and gracious, all you have to do is say this simple prayer and believe, Just say Dear Jesus, I just ask you right now to come into my heart and save me. I believe you are the son of God and that you came to earth to die on a cross as a perfect sacrifice for my sins, I believe you rose from the grave the third day to wash away my sins, I confess and admit right now that I am a sinner in need of a Saviour, I Pray this believing in myJesus'name,Amen. If you said this Prayer with a sincere heart believing you now have been born again into the Kingdom of God. Praise the Lord, now get a Bible and start reading, find a Church and start praising God with other believers. If you have any ?? just send me an email. Its a great day in the Lord, Amen, Hope to hear of your transformation into the Kingdom of God!!!!

They didn't choose what would fit with thier desires-- they chose what fit with mainstream Christian belief and practice at the time. The canon was not formalized for hundreds of years, although many writings spread during all that time. Gnostic sects created their own gospels that would support their philosophies about light vs. darkness, about the "secret knowledge" that would lead to salvation.

In fact, the whole reason the church decided to create a Bible for Christians was because heretic groups were creating their own Bibles! The Church perceived this threat to its centuries-long teachings and needed to combat it by creating its own canon.
