Do drugs glorify God?
Do drugs bring you closer to God, or cloud your judgment, and move you further from God?
What better use is there for your time, if you're spending time high?
Godspeed.

there are two types of drugs 1 is the perscription type
and the 2 Are the drug's that all other idiots take for one reason or the other .Even the laws all over the world say that
what other's do with them are a sin,so i would think that the Church would follow the same reasoning, don't you !
I would have to say that all of the takers of illict drugs and the pushers are braindead just like the Christians.

Beings consumed by drug usage, is a sin.
In the New Testament, the word commonly translated 'witchcraft' or 'sorcery' is the Greek word "Pharmekia." In those days, the most common way to alter consciousness and engage the world of evil spirits was by drug use.

Depends on which "drugs" you are speaking of. For medicinal purposes to aid the body to cope with illness and disease, No, but to alter behaviors, Yes.
To use IIegal drugs is a sin, as "sin" is what the ancient called "bad behavior." I don't have to explain to you that substance abuse to excess will alter a person's behaviors and "mentally" you are not behaving "normally." Drugs of this sort make those who use them behave irratically and do things they normally would not do "sober."

Yoyo,
Anything that divides you from Christ is a sin.
In all things, we should try to decide if we are honoring Christ.
If we are not, then we are in sin.
Sin, by the way, is an ancient archery term meaning "missing the mark," or the target.
So when we sin - it means we are missing what God wants for us.
He wants the BEST for us - and His wonderful love letter, the Bible was written to teach us how we can be closest to Him.

your being vauge about your question. is it ok to take medicine properly? Yes. Is it an act of sin to do a gagger of blow? Yes.
Sin is the refusal of Jesus Christ's atonement. Acts of sin are the things you do. Drugs are a habit and a bondage which is the result of sin. Christ is the source the Cross is the means.

The Christian Bible says the human body is the Lord's temple, abusing illicit drugs would deteriorate that temple, which makes it sound like it would be a sin to me.

Yes it is. The Hebrew word for sorcery in pharmekea, which is where we derive our word for pharmacy or pharmeceutical. God forbids us from practicing witchcraft and that is exactly what partaking in drugs is.
Bottom line, not beating around the bush: drugs=witchcraft which becomes SIN!

High Flyer is correct. Also, Christians are directed to obey the law. So, illegal drugs are of course out for that reason also.

Jesus said, "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's, and render unto God that which is God's."
Translation-- follow all laws of your society unless they conflict with doing God's will. God's will is not for you to do illegal drugs, so yes, it is a sin. Alcohol too, if you're under 21.
