A friend had tooth extraction on his lower left side of the jawline. It has been 10 days and he is still in a lot of pain. No infection, just swelling that comes and goes throughout the day. And every evening around 8pm or later he goes through pain all along the gums, front teeth, jawline etc. Nothing seems to help. Dentist has no answers for him. If there is a dentist out there that can offer a suggestion or someone who went through something similar we would love to hear from you.

IF HE'S HAD TRAUMATIC BONE SURGERY THIS WILL BE PAINFUL FOR THE FIRST FEW DAYS BUT, THIS TYPE OF PAIN WILL NOT VE AS YOU DESCRIBE.
HAVE HIS DENTIST CHECK HIM TO BE SURE HE DOESN'T HAVE "DRY SOCKET."

when I had my wisdom teeth pulled it was at least ten days before the sockets began to feel better. The dentist doesn't seem to be very compassionate of your friend's pain. He could prescribe medication that would be of some help. Your friend may just be a slow healer, and with some more time, will feel better. Also, there may be a piece of food, or possibly some bone fragment from the tooth stuck in the socket. I would definitely go back to the dentist and have him check those possibilities. Good luck!
