I do not know how to decaffeinate coffee, but I've read that you can decaffeinate tea by steeping it for 20-30 seconds, discarding the liquid, and you will have reduced the caffeine. By how much, I don't remember, but it still contains a bit of caffeine at that point.

There are two processes for decaffinating coffee. One uses steam to extract the caffeine, the other uses a very nasty industrial solvent.

As for home use, just buy some decaf, it's not worth the hassle to do it at home.

why don't you just buy it decafinated? are you in a third world country.
