I used to be good friends with this one guy I used to like over the summer. Towards the end of July we drifted because I went out of state on vacation and my phone number changed. I 've gotten over him but we go to the same school and I've seen him around every other if not everyday but I don't know if I should go talk to him. I don't think girls should ever approach the guy. I'm worried he'll think I still like him if I go up to him but also don't want to lose touch with him as a friend.
I'm really just having conflicting feelings that part of me is just
:GO UP TO HIM ALREADY!!
and the other part of me is like
:if he doesn't see you or say hi, he probably doesn't want to talk to you
what do you guys think?
I should just forget about him and focus on the new guy that has come into the picture ..right?

You don't have to get back with him, but you can't not talk to him. Think of a question to ask him about something from this summer... "Did you ever finish your boat? Did your sister ever...? How's your mom doing?.".. anything from the summer. Then when you run into him, say, "Hi! Good to talk to you again. I've seen you around, but haven't gotten a chance to check in with you. Did you ever finish your boat? How's the school year going for you.. Do you have Mr Johnson for history? You'll like him. Well, good to talk to you. See you around." That way, you are prepared for the meeting and won't appear to be flustered, or needy, or anything but glad to see and talk to him again.

Hey, haha i see your problem is a real toughie. Well, in my opinion, i think you should go up to him. Intiate the first talk. If he stars getting all weirded out, or yknow acting cold and stuff, then maybe you should look for the new guy. But you never know what the other guy is thinking. He might be thinking the exact same thing as you, should i talk to her? or not. Just give it a try, and see how it goes! ^.-

I was kind of in the same boat you are now, he's probably really shy to talk to you, just go up to him and be like "oh hey! soo how's school goin' for ya? or how was your summer?" just something casual, usually you can tell after he answers you if he really wants something to do with you or not. good luck! =)

I have this same problem, and I think the only way to break the ice is to sometimes make the move yourself.
