I just took my first dose of lunesta (2mg) about an hour ago. Im not tired at all, but I do feel out of it and I have a headache. The reason Im posting this is I HAVE THE HORRIBLE METALLIC TASTE that Ive heard people mention before! Anything I can do to make it better and how long does it typically last? Any advice?
Ive discovered one thing: chew gum.

The only advice I can give you is what some strategies others have tried that worked for them. Give them a try and maybe one will work for you:
1. buy vitamin or veggie capsules, remove the insides and insert the lunesta, then take
2. use a Listerine Fresh Citrus Strip after taking lunesta
3. gum (which you already found out)

I wonder if anyone has tried saltine crackers? I know saltines often kill the taste of spicy foods or other foul tasting medications. It might be worth trying.

Whatever you do, stay away from milk as it seems to really intensify the metallic taste of lunesta...some say the same happens for them with water.

Some patients experienced a disappearance of the aftertaste once they were on the medication for a few weeks but no everyone was so lucky.
