Actually the religions that espouse reincarnation think that being reborn is undesirable. And, rather than keeping the memories of past lives is not wanted. The knowledge that is wanted is within Nirvana, which is a state of being and state of mind. Where or not any of this is possible is questionable, since we don't have the current scientific knowledge to rule it out, yet the same can be said of the Loch Ness Monster.

It means to be born again twice. :-)
Seriously, though, it's generally the same as saying you are "saved". The term is most often applied to one who had abandoned or neglected their faith for a time, and then returned to it later, usually with a desire and commitment to being more devoted and conformist than they'd ever been before.
However, I feel I should caution you. This isn't a search you can count on others to be truthful or knowledgable in. Everybody has their own ideas on the subject, and most of them want you to believe as they do. Some of them will even be seriously offended if you don't. So since you're going to tick a whole lot of people anyway just by having an opinion - any opinion at all - you might just as well go for that which feels most true to you.
Trust your feelings, and only your feelings. Don't let others tell you what truth is, or that you'll go to Hell if you don't see things their way. Have faith in God that he won't let you go astray so long as your quest for truth remains profoundly sincere.
I don't believe in God, not as humans define it. But I do believe in "The Divine", you might call it - the source of all that's ever truly come to be and the final destination to all that shall ever truly end. Have faith in the source, whatever form it makes itself known to you, and trust that so long as you seek the truth with a sincere and earnest heart, you will never go astray. To be truly sincere in your quest, you have to be willing to accept and acknowledge the fact that any one of your beliefs - even your very profound and meaningful beliefs - may turn out to be falsehoods. When it comes to matters of religion, spirituality and philosophy, devoting yourself unquestioningly to any one belief is a big mistake. It's the worst thing you could possibly do to yourself and those around you. Be humble, accept that you are only human and that you cannot possibly know everything - and that even if it turns out at the end of life's road that something you believed was completely wrong, but you sincerely believed it, you will not be judged for it.
Wups. Sorry, went off into a "sermon" there, for a moment. :-# I apologize. Anyway, good luck in your search. :-)

You mean "what does it mean to be 'born again". Well, you were physically born to your parents and your rebirth is your being born into the family of God. This can only come when you are taught how sin entered into the world and how you were made a part of that sin, and the way you can be cleansed and 'born again' gives you a chance for eternal life in Christ Jesus. Your spirit *the person inside you is what comes alive. We are spirit first, we live in body and we have a soul (intellect, emotions, etc.) The spirit man is just waiting to reconnect to the Heavenly Father in you and when you accept Jesus as your personal savior, believing that he was born into the world, that he taught and healed, and raised people from the dead (all things that we are supposed to be able to do) and that because of this demonstration of power, and way he taught, officials in his own background believed he was bad and tried to kill him. They did not know he GAVE his own life - they could not kill him, but he did have to die for the sins. He also arose and that is really what his death was about. Where there is sin, there must be judgment or death. Jesus paid that price so that we don't have to die - our bodies will cease to function, but our spirit is reborn and will not die. When he comes again, we will rise and receive new bodies without spot or blemish and will be perfect. This is the salvation that he paid for us and it is through is love that he has told us - to go and witness this truth and to tell others how much he loves them and he is offering this free love and free life everlasting to anyone who would believe. If you believe in this you only have to say Yes, Lord I believe you lived and you died and you were brought back to life again and you are offering me this new life and I am a new creature. I trust you. I honor you and I thank you. In Jesus name.

We must be born again of the water and of the spirit. When we are born the first time, we have the sin nature of the first Adam. We must take on the nature of the second Adam (Jesus Christ). We do this by following what is written in Acts 2:38. repent, be baptized by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ to be forgiven of our sins, then we will receive the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. This is the rebirth of your Spirit and will help you overcome any temptations that will come along. Only overcomers will enter into heaven. It is a wonderful experience. You will feel the presence of our Lord and it is totally awesome.

Read John 3:3 and 3:5 Jesus said, Ye must be born again. Ye must be born of the water and the Spirit.
When Peter was asked by the multitude on the day of Pentecost, what did he say? He said You must repent, be baptised and you will be filled with the Holy Spirit. Same thing Jesus said. Who do you think? Can Jesus tell us how to be saved? Can Peter tell us how to be saved?Aacts 2:38

'Re-'.... 'has no 'again'. It's called redundancy in English.
So, as you have put it, 'to be reborn again', would mean - Born redundant?

To be born again is a Christian term that means this. Whenever you except Jesus as your savior and lord, he renews you and you are made new and forever given a spot in heaven. He are given a second chance all thanks to Jesus, who died on the cross to forgive everyone of your sins since "The penalty of sin is death", hince where sacrifices come from. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice.
