I've realized that atheists treat the statement, "Bible is illogical" as given information. Please elaborate, seeing as how I would like to learn. If you are going to bash and going to act like a wise-guy, please dont waste space on here. Go clown around elsewhere

Who was at the Empty Tomb? Is it:
MAT 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

MAR 16:1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.

JOH 20:1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.

I found one of these so called "contradictions" but its not contradicting. they're only using different titles for describing mary. I call my Dad "dad", my cousin calls him "uncle". It's not contradicting, this one was a dud.

NOTE: I do not take the bible 100% literally, I just read it to understand the morals. Some parts i take literally true, others i dont

another contradiction. I have no comment, just that WHO CARES HOW MANY CHARIOTS HE HAD. HOW DOES THIS MAKE THE BIBLE ILLOGICAL?

How many stalls and horsemen?
KI1 4:26 And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.

CH2 9:25 And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; whom he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

I googled "bible contradictions' a few times just to see what they have come up with...as usual I find they just don't get it. I was a little bit nervous at first cuz I thought, "what if the Bible is full of contradictions?" Then after painstaking examination of these numerous instances you can see the obvious grasping at non-existant, imaginary straws. There were very few that had any substance...so few that comparing them with the entire Bible being cohesive in unity otherwise I was quite able to put my mind and my faith at rest because even the few that appeared to be contradictions were over such simple matters that it was easy enough to attribute them to the differences in writers and writing styles. In fact, I was glad afterward that I had gone to the trouble to find out about the whole matter because inevitably it strengthened my faith in the Word of God. To atheists though, they cling to these so called contradictions with pit bull determination so don't bother trying to show them the truth. Just pray for them....Love in Christ, ~J~

There are so many.

Honestly, if you really want actual instances with SPECIFIC biblical quotes, (it even tells you where to find them so you can see for yourself) visit the web pages I am listing.

Link to proof number 16 on why God is Imaginary, all about contradictions:
http://godisimaginary.com/i16.htm

Link to video about why no one can get into Heaven, the contradictions the Bible places on it:
http://godisimaginary.com/video1.htm

Link to information if you are an "unwavering" Christian:
http://godisimaginary.com/devoted.htm

I know that most people won't actually go to the sites and read about it, but you asked and that site really does give ACTUAL biblical quotes as evidence. You should see the contradictions very clearly. If you don't... well, wow. You must be a highly illogical person.

Hheheee its not like the heavens opened up one say and the bible came floating down on the back of a dove or something.

363CE Council of Laodicea names 26 New Testament books as "inspired word of God"; Book of Revelation is excluded.

The bishops did look at 28 different gospels and over 2000 various 'testaments of faith' that were being used at the time period by the various sects or 'demoninations' at the time period. Their choice in scripture was in creating ORTHODOXY (making the way straight) in contrast to the heresy (free thinking).

These early councils that defined christianity came at the insistence of the Roman Emperor Constantine. All these various groups were creating alot of 'disorder' and violence within the empire. The romans did like their order, so they told the christians to hash out what they actually 'believed in'.

Unfortunately, ONLY the Pauline sects were invited to attend the councils. Pauline are those that use the teachings of "Paul". Many of the OTHER groups rejected 'Paul' as a 'FALSE Prophet', like many of the jewish sects and gnostics since 'Paul's' teachings in many ways contradicted the Laws of God as well as the teachings of 'Jesus'.

Deuteronomy Chapter 13 covers 'false prophets'. Basically if someone preached contrary to the Laws of God and advocated an OTHER god, like 'Paul' does with 'Jesus' they were named a 'false prophet'.

As to you question concerning the bible being illogical and contradictory, well many such example stem more from the Council of Laodicea, since when they put the bible together they took scriptures from DIFFERENT groups.

One example of a literal contradiction...
the geneologies listed for 'Jesus' in Matthew Chapter 1 and Luke 3. Even the number of generations linking back is out of sink.

Some other contradictions concerning Christian philosophy...

Christian's CLAIM that 'jesus' is their sin offering, but human sacrifice as sin offerings is an abomination to god. Hosea 13:2

Offering up such sacrifice upon High Places, like Mt. Calvary was also an abomination, see Jeremiah 32:35

Communion: John 6: 53 Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. which is in contraction to Leviticus 7:22/ Hos 7:14/ Hos 8:13

Many Christian sects claim that they no longer follow the OLD Laws cuz they have their sin offering, but this is NOT what 'jesus' said.
Mat 19:17 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments.”
Mat 5:18-19 I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

these are just a few, but enough to get you started, if you would like to chat further feel free to email me.

I will also comment though that YOU are also bashing in your post, which again calls to mind another scripture..
"When you judge another; for in passing judgment upon him you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, are doing the very same things"

Another verse in admonishment:"out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." In some cases, atheists are mean and nasty---which is just a reflection of how they have been treated at the hands of some christians.

In OTHER cases, many atheists are quite well read in scripture and history. Its only Christian Propaganda that claims otherwise. Hehheee which is only 'truth' if all ya talk to are Christians---but what a small world.

Secondly I will note that if the Spirit didn't want their to be atheists, then there wouldn't be. OR do you have one of those limited gods.

EXO 4:11 The LORD said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD ?

Have you actually read the thing?! The first page of the entire book has errors galore. One that springs to mind is that it says light was created before any sources of light were created. There was day and night before there was a sun... Anyone who can keep reading past that point and not think "maybe this isn't a true story" has serious mental issues.

I'm not an atheist, but I'll give you a few:

2Samuel 24:2 and 1Chronicles (21:1) One states that God told David to count the people of Israel, one states it's Satan that asked David to count.

Luke 1:32...Jesus will inherit the throne of David, however in Mathew it states that Jesus is a descendant of Jehoiakim, who was cursed by God so that none of his descendants could sit upon the throne of David.

I don't have time for anymore, I have to go take care of my kids.

If you need to have it explained to you why the Noah legend, or the Adam and Eve legend, is illogical, I can't even see the point in explaining it to you. I'm sorry, I'm really not trying to be rude, but I can't.

Same thing with the contradictions. You have to be willing to look at the Bible in a critical spirit, and most religious people aren't - they're too vested in it. They see what they want to see and ignore what they want to ignore.

People are taught from childhood to read the Scriptures reverently, and to assume their sanctity and authority even before knowing anything of their contents. The "Word" is God's, and infallible, and to criticize it is blasphemy. That makes it impossible for many people to understand the problems with the Bible when analyzed as we would analyze anything else.

I'm sure you're a devout Christian, and I'm not trying to convince you of anything contrary to your beliefs. But I'm willing to bet that you'd have no problem listening to the arguments against (e.g.) the Koran, and accepting them on their merits - possibly even gunning for a negative conclusion. But you could never do the same thing with the Bible. And that's fine; that's part of your faith; but it means we're probably not going to make much headway in a discussion like this.

The first two chapters of Genesis provide contradictory accounts of the creation.

Chapter 1 says the animals came first, and then Adam.
Chapter 2 says Adam was first, and then the animals.
